Street Meat is back with it's second release of 2016. This time from long time friend Chrissy.

Originally given away as part of his "Year of Edits", this selection has been narrowed down and pressed to vinyl. An EP of club-worthy re-edits ranging from classic US garage to obscure Quebecois disco and synthy euro-heaters. All thoroughly tested from Panorama Bar to Smartbar.

After a brief wait between releases, UK-based deep house label @secret-reels is back with a new record. The imprint bears a sound that is often both bittersweet and pensive -- a shout to the aesthetic of the now defunct Purple Velvet -- and has a serious nose, err, ear for talent. Bordeaux producer Leon Revol (@leonidmusique) is at the helm for SR007, after showing promise with releases on the likes of Pressed for Time and Monologues. It's a five track EP (four originals and a remix) - aptly named Astral Plane - that delves into flavors of the cosmic variety.

The A1 slot is occupied by "Far With A Van", which our friends at Sleazy Beats gave us a peek into a short time ago. It's an airy and smooth jam, layered with synths, perfectly tuned drums and smart samples. The title track, "Astral Plane" accompanies it on the art-side, in all its dusty, spacey glory.

On the flip comes our premiere - Bolting Bits favorite Admin's remix of "Far With A Van". The Bristolian beatsmith managed to find the sample used in the original mix (or something in the exact same key and vein), flipping it into a warm, organic version. Thick and crackly drums hold up the track as melancholy strums and angelic horns adorn the arrangement above a bouncing bassline. Ultimately, the track builds to a nicely executed climax; all samples smartly cued and positioned.  It's a deft re-imagination of the perfectly delicious original take, and repurposes the cut for more sombre, late hours play.

Rounding out the B are "St. James" and "Outside", two heady synth-led deep house groovers that nicely continue the vibe of the effort. Followers of Secret Reels and their polished deep house sound will not be disappointed by this 12" in the slightest. Moreover, young Leon has displayed some serious skill here and will surely be a name to watch in the near future.

PREMIERE : Leon Revol - Far With A Van (Admin Remix)

The man known as DJ Nature holds a long and illustrious list of releases that spans all the way back to the early 90's, when, as "Nature Boy", the Bristol born DJ and producer was carving out sample heavy house music for labels like Ruff Disco Records and the Underworld affiliated Tomato label.
His relatively modern re-incarnation, as DJ Nature, has seen singles and two albums come correct on revered labels like Golf Channel Recordings and Jazzy Sport.
Following on from Futureboogie’s landmark 50th release, DJ Nature drops a heavyweight four track EP on the Bristol label, each track promising and delivering Summertime vibes in abundance. 
“Born Lifted”, with its deft guitar licks and soulful vocal chops over lazy, hazy beats, is a great example of the Nature aesthetics that make his tracks so very popular across the house fraternity. “My Life” picks up the pace, deploying granite hard snares and cosmic chords with dusted vocal samples. 
On the flip, “What It Isn’t” packs some jazz chops with its sampled pianos and saxophone riffs over a discordant beat that swings with the best of them, whilst EP closer premiered here“Loving U More” again serves up some delicious summertime grooves with the perfect marriage of deep, funky bass and seductive samples.
