RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Avenue Records has released its debut Rose Avenue Compilation Vol. 1.

The compilation kicks off with ‘Coming Back 4 You’, a wistful single from brother duo Modern Tales off their recent debut album Stars Align. Moving through the iridescent house tones of Arodes and Ø’s ‘Signs of Light’ and sultry builds of Luke Alessi’s ‘Aqua Stars’, the compilation shines a light on the emotive dance sounds that have permeated Rose Avenue’s curation. From the mesmerizing melodies of Colyn’s ‘Day 8’ to the tantalizing techno soundscape of Township Rebellion, Victor Pilava, and Roemisch collaborative ‘Fantasia on a Theme’, Vol. 1 is a testament to the imaginative artistry found throughout Rose Avenue’s catalog. 

Continuing their tradition as a welcome home to new talent, the compilation serves to showcase the label’s latest signees, like HWIN, formerly ½ of Cathedrals who has debuted his new melodic techno project with ‘Metropolis Heights’. Flaunting the enticing sounds that echo the label’s upcoming releases, the compilation soars through the dynamic rhythms of Enamour’s ‘Body Test’ and Bigfett’s synth-heavy offering ‘Continuum’. Other Rose Avenue newcomers include Brooklyn’s dark-tech riser Julya Karma with ‘Hypnotized’ and Mexico City-bred beatsmith Sainte Vie with ‘Raindrops’.

Hey everyone. This is Goldhawk here and this is my set from Notsilly Festival on Saturday 12th July. I dug deep with this one and pulled out some true beauties from my library which encapsulates my sound. Out of the 60+ sets I’ve published to SoundCloud this is THE ONE. Light and dark, hard and soft, magical instruments, tribal drum programming, sounds from nature, influences from Indian, African and Middle Eastern cultures, remixes and edits of classics in my style, alongside tracks and acapellas with beautiful lyrics.

It was a scorching hot couple of days and a real privilege to play to my favourite festival crew, some of whom I’ve known for 9 years since first going to Noisily Festival in 2016. 450 of us came together in Mountsorrel, Leicestershire on the River Soar, off the back of Noisily Festival being cancelled by Live Nation.

It was a real triumph, especially as it was all organised in 2 months and completely sold out. The organisers even had to secure additional fields so we could up the capacity and number of stages. Hats off to Vish, Lawrence, Adam and all the amazing people that helped make this happen. You are all legends in my eyes. The first ever Notsilly Festival will be etched into my brain forever and I can’t wait to return next year. Much love to you all and I hope this mix brings you happiness, wherever you are and whatever you’re going through.

Live from Notsilly Fest's Party Tunnel Saturday July 12th 01:30 - 03:30 am. It suffices to say, the greatest challenge of all was following an incredible hard hitting set from Gavin @nd3ce3nt who left me and everyone in the tunnel with jelly thighs, but with just enough fuel to deliver a dark (and hopeful) two hour sonic journey ranging from 92 - 180 BPM. This set is near and dear to me as it draws inspiration from my own life story, channeling the emotional, yet hopeful, rollercoaster I've been on over the last year or so. Each track carefully selected, down to title names and featured lyrics, intended to craft a story. There is always light at the end of the tunnel and Notsilly's Party Tunnel certainly delivered! Once upon a time, I  had the privilege of opening the Noisily stage. At that point I had created four tracks myself but not played out and never to such a discerning audience. I thought the best thing to do was to nestle the attempts I have made at production between a Neurodriver and Ben Coda track who are a pair of Noisily and my own favourites.
