✈ To celebrate this last episode of October, we are proud and delighted to welcome dj & producer raised in Morocco & based in Lille : ZAATAR زَعْتَر

Zaatar زْعَتر music is the peculiar combination of both her origins : Moroccan and Belgian. 

She finds her inspiration in the post punk and EBM movement of the late 80’ and early 90’.

Her tracks are therefore built around a gritty and rough baseline that sets the mood for frenetic body dances. Melodies and sounds inherited from her home country - Morocco- completes her soundscape in a way that is her own.

During her DJ sets she invites the public on a captivating journey from light to darkness, an oscillation between joy and melancholy sometimes punctuated by oriental melodies.

Co-founder and resident of the Laisse Tomber Les Filles collective, she works to celebrate women on the decks, freedom and diversity, values that never leave her, especially behind the decks.

She joins the label Ritmo Fatale with the track Abiad Al Layali already considered as an EBM reference.

Nao: She has been an organiser and resident DJ at ‘rural’ open-air summer party in Japan for many years and has summoned unique international artists such as CUT HANDS and DOLPHINS INTO THE FUTURE as a private promoter.

She traverses a variety of genres, with a focus on techno, and has developed a unique, yet groovy and hypnotic style. She has played in venues ranging from Tel Aviv , Vancouver to Thailand’s Wonderfruit festival and Asian countries such as Hanoi, Taipei and Soul, Her European tour in March 2024, entitled ‘rural’s 15th anniversary’, saw her perform her signature sets at venues such as Bassiani in Tbilisi, 1986 Gallery in Vilnius and Ankali in Prague, winning her a large fan base and leaving her mark on the international scene. She has also left her mark on the international stage.

Few artists embody pure improvisational freedom like Colin Benders. A peerless live modular techno performer, his powerful, groove-driven performances exist only in the moment. Every show is a visceral dialogue between instinct and circuitry, blending primal energy with technical mastery.

“This past year I have noticed my sound has shifted towards a more barebones, more direct version of techno. I think this shift has come simultaneously with my general outlook on music, I don’t really feel like this day and age calls for pretty melodies and polished sounds. I’ve started to crave the fringes where things start falling apart, or where the droning kick becomes relentless yet still hypnotic. My setup is limited in sound palette, but I try to make up for it in drive and motion. This set is definitely not polished and sometimes it derails into unbearable screeching, but that’s part of the deal I guess :) anyway, enjoy!” - Colin
