Upon listening to this again, I feel like I'm drawing some parallels between this and some of Ryu Umemoto's music. I don't know if you've even heard of Ryu Umemoto or not, but if you haven't it's very much recommended listening, made some excellent music for the PC98 and stuff in the 90s. He died in 2011, which is pretty sad since he was very skilled with his music. If you want to check out some of Ryu Umemoto's stuff, you should be able to find quite a bit by looking on YouTube by searching for his name, and perhaps checking the Wikipedia article about him too.

Created for OSC #186 = Any Two Synths using Odin2 and Vital.
Genre: Synth orchestral / trailer music / cinematic

Our brave heroes wait behind the castle walls as the enemy approaches. First the horns sound in the distance, and then slowly approach. Some notes ring familiar, while others are strangely alien. Three final eerie blasts as the ram begins its foul work upon the gate. When the enemy finally breaks through, not only men but twisted creatures with robotic voices join in the battle. As the fighting gets more and more chaotic, our protectors make a final stand. Can they prevail?

Enemy At The Gates - OSC 186 Odin2 and Vital

James Mullen had his first day, or rather his first night in the London police force on that foggy 31 August 1888. He was excited and proud at the same time and he was scared... He shouldn't be afraid, he was a policeman after all! Nevertheless, an uneasy feeling crept over him that simply could not be suppressed. He didn't like being out at night and yet he tried not to let on that he would rather be at home in his bed than prowling through the darkest streets of London in the middle of the night... 

He turned into Buck's Row and suddenly stopped... ‘What's that...?’ He walked slowly towards the small pile in the alley. It was dark and he couldn't see his hand in front of his eyes. Only now did he realise that he had not yet lit his lamp, even though his instructor had told him to do so again and again. 

He lit his lamp and shone it in the direction of the heap on the road and immediately wished he hadn't. Staring in fear and horror, he couldn't believe what he was seeing and without realising it, he cried like he had never cried before in his life... 

‘You'll never forget your first day at the police station’ said his mum with a smile as he said goodbye to her. She was right...
