This is the recording of the set I played at the Bangers & Mash floor at Kiez Burn 2022 on Friday night 6-8pm. I am still hyped and feel grateful for all the burners that joined the ride and that my slot was spared from the numerous power cuts we had to deal with throughout the weekend.

The days are getting shorter and darker and slowly the pace of life is shifting. Just like the leaves of the trees we let go of summer. @soso-klein captured the change of the season from sparkling summer to tranquil fall beautifully in her Mbuki Mvuki Mix. Just like autumn: dark - but with colorful tones.

For Soso Klein, music is a medium of communication as strong as - or even greater than - speaking. The very first DJ-set she played was for her little sister who was in hospital. Soso Klein couldn’t visit her and her sister couldn’t use her phone. Soso Klein could only ‘contact’ her by making music. Feeling this power of music she realized that mixing would become a fundamental practice for her.  

For the love of downtempo music, Soso Klein passionately left her hometown in France to move to Berlin. In the rich downtempo scene she settled down and you can find her playing in numerous clubs and events there. Make sure to find out what she has to say on the dance floor if you are there! Luckily for us, we are able to listen to this beautiful mbuki mvuki story wherever on earth we are. Sit back, take it slow and enjoy!

After experiencing power outages the night before, Hendrik Harle (@hendrik_harle) and I came together once more for a spontaneous back-to-back session Saturday night, and it couldn’t have been more magical. This set was sparked by the incredible support and demand from the community after the technical hiccups, and we’re beyond grateful to everyone for making it happen. Though we had never played together before, following each other's leads and feeding off the vibrant energy of the crowd made it an absolute joy.

A huge shoutout to the core team for pulling everything together and to the amazing artists who generously shared their stage time with us. We’re still buzzing from the electric atmosphere and the sheer fun we had!

It was truly special to spend this unforgettable weekend with such an incredible community that welcomed us with open arms and dancing feet, creating that unmistakable family vibe URF is known for.

One might not expect that multi-talented artist Rey&Kjavik is originally from the Rhine-Main-area hence his chosen DJ- and producer-moniker and also because of his eclectic musical approach. But matter of fact Rey&Kjavik is one of the few artists that represents the once so blooming region in the middle of Germany, whilst 'blooming' is to be understood in regards to the current development in the electronic music scene its subcultural life in the Rhine-Main-area. Unfazed by the aforementioned the artist just released his second long-player, 'Mountiri', on his own label RKJVK, which depicts two topics the artist wants to emphasize: a holistic musical approach combined with cultural diversity - just like Rey&Kjavik's hometown, just like Rey&Kjavik's life as a touring DJ. Shortly before the release of 'Mountiri' Torture the Artist caught up with the artist to gather some more insights to the album release, the local subculture and much more. Additionally enjoy a very special mix by the artist while diving deep into the interview.

“I am all about Self-care and taking time for yourself. So often I will relax by myself at home, listening to music such as Joanna Brouk, or any kind of mellow ambient music, do some restorative poses with bolsters and blankets and let my body just sink into whatever position it wants to be in. Your body and mind deserves love, attention and music that can heal. But this takes time and lots of practice. To meditate is to bring the mind home to its nature, to become enlightened, and released from suffering. 
To be on this path I have to ask questions and not settle for a specific answer, but accepting that it's the practice of asking those right questions that will take me into next level of self-discovery. Not long ago I had another meaningful and heart opening meeting with Kambo and Sananga. Working with these nature medicines inspired me to create a musical journey that guides you through the consciousness and can help you let go and release any tension. 

I love sharing organic sounds, creating an atmosphere that will take you to delightful places and that can be felt like balsam for your soul.
