In January I was joined on the show by one of the most important figures in the UK electronic music space, DJ / Producer / Creative Kode9 🤙🏽

We chatted about the future and present of his iconic Hyperdub label, appreciating the slowness of lockdown, and how this pandemic has shifted the way he approaches music and his career 

I was also joined by Portuguese DJ, Deejay Poco who brought us 26 mins of pure afro percussive FIRE 🔥feat some of the very best of the afro Portuguese underground  🇵🇹

Back in February I was honoured to be joined by two heroes of Berlin's experimental underground, Pan record's Bill Kouligas and innovative, outward thinking musician and DJ Dis Fig 👑

Bill and I chatted about the legacy and current moves for his label PAN records, as well as creativity in lockdown and being inspired by travelling. Plus he laid down a weighty guest mix full of 100% PAN releases 👹

& Dis Fig was in the Passport - where she shared some music from local artists that she rates from Dead Teknik and more ⭐️

Rhythm Travels W/ Pongo on Worldwide FM

A couple of months back on Kiss, all the residents were given the chance to shine a light on international talent.

Highlighting global underground music is what I'm all about, and so I jumped at the chance to deep dive into the musical soundscape of Canada, heading to Montreal, Quebec, Vancouver and Toronto.

It was an exciting moment to have emerging talent Skiifall come through for a chat. Although only releasing a handfull of tunes so far, Skii's effortless patois flow and continent crossing sound has already made WAVES across the Rap circuit. 

We spoke about studio processes, his love for the UK, our shared Vincentian heritage and music to come 🚩

I also had a DJ and Producer I've admired for the longest, SIM in the mix spinning his unique take on Dancehall rhythms punctuated by his signature club ready sound 💦

KISS NIGHTS AROUND THE WORLD: CANADA SPECIAL W/ SKIIFALL & SIM

This Kiss special was all about a genre and movement that has shaped the sound of the UK since its inception in the early 00's 

A 2 hour ode to the London born sound that birthed the likes of Wiley, Kano, Pay As U Go Kartel, Lioness, Roll Deep and so many more 

I invited producer and DJ Bok Bok to share some of the Grime instrumentals that have remained solid in his collection over the years 

Radio and blend queen DJ Jetsss was in the mix with some fire edits and originals from Logan Olm, Devil Jin, Becky On The Beat, PK and more 💵 

Definitely a firm favourite! RELOAAAAD 🤙🏽

Born in India, raised in Curaçao, and now living in Amsterdam, D Jamz brings a combination of speedy beats that evoke some dreamy elements to showcase the different worlds she’s been in. Having been playing the drums from a young age, she’s always inspired by different percussions and rhythms of different cultures and finds the overlaps between them.

In the passport was a great friend and extremely talented author, presenter and everything inbetween: Chris Adofo, repping the music that has continued to shape his London over the years from Jungle anthems through to Grime classics 👟 

The mix was in the hands of Kenyan Producer / DJ / Sound Wizard Rey Sapienz who I've wanted on the show for ages, and he did NOT disappoint 🥵 26 minutes of industrial, warped  East African rhythms to catapult you straight into an intergalactic dancefloor 🪐

Tash LC on Kiss FM W/ Rey Sapienz & Chris Adofo

A couple of weeks back I was fortunate enough to be joined on my show by a producer whose weightless, genre bending sound has made him into one of the most unique producers about - Kevin Martin AKA The Bug 🐛 

We celebrated his brand new baby 'Fire' out now on Ninja Tune - A heavy project featuring a bunch of unique talent inc Manga Saint Hilaire, Nazamba, Irah and Daddy Freddy 

We covered a range of feelings and thoughts ranging from inner city pressures, touring with Roll Deep, the impact of multicultural neighbourhoods, and how he linked up with the incredible collaborators on this album 🎶

This is one of my favourite albums and conversations I've had in a while, a wicked insight into the processes of someone I've admired for a long time. Hope you enjoy! 👾

Full Interview W / The Bug

This show brought together the Jamaican and Indian undergrounds with a mix from Duppy Gun and a Passport from Samresh / Studio Krygn ⬇️

Miles runs the Bokeh Versions label out of Bristol, UK. Home to some of the weirdest and most genre bending electronic music, Bokeh also houses the Duppy Gun collective. These guys originate from Portmore, Jamaica and features Sikka Rhymes, I Jahbar, Smurfy, RDL and more - churning out some of the most left field tunes coming out of JA right now.  These guys have put out some of my favourite releases of the past year and it was a pleasure to have Miles on with a 100% unreleased Duppy mix 🌻

Samresh AKA Studio Krygn is a creative and friend from Mumbai, India, who makes tribal inspired prints and also runs Aztec Table Sound, pushing Afropop from the diaspora 🧞‍♂️

Ckrono says:' It’s a lil journey into the sounds i love most in the latest months, it’s a mix of heavy bass club music which I have always been into, with my constant research for the Brasilian funk. First Sounds Of Yeke mix for 2020! Kicking the year off with a DJ and collector I've been a long time fan of, but who I met on a recent trip to South Africa: DJ Okapi 🇿🇦 

'Digging up rare grooves in the city of gold, DJ Okapi brings a forgotten era of South African pop music back to life, turning a new generation on to the synth-fuelled ‘80s disco known as bubblegum and the downtempo kwaito grooves of the ‘90s. Based in Maboneng in downtown Johannesburg, he runs the record store and label Afrosynth Records and has compiled collections of South African music for Rush Hour, Soundway and Cultures of Soul. Since 2016 he has been playing regularly throughout Europe and as far afield as China, Russia and Brazil.'

April's Sounds Of Yeke comes from Manchester, a beautiful ode to 50's and 60's Trinidad by record collector, DJ, and ethnomusicologist Danny Fitzgerald 💿An uplifting mini journey through some Calypso greats to bring some much needed sunshine into these strange days ⛅️ 

Danny says: A special selection of old school calypso from 1950s and '60s Trinidad. Take a trip back in time to mid-century Port of Spain, and bask in the irresistible rhythm, happy melodies, and humourous philosophy from the inventive minds of legends like Lord Kitchener, Mighty Sparrow,  and Roaring Lion.

In little time London based artist Tash LC has established herself as an assured DJ, host, label owner and presenter across both radio and club mediums.

Tash finds herself at home on the airwaves with a current residency on esteemed London based radio station NTS, and past residencies on Kiss FM, BBC Radio 1Xtra, and a long standing show on Worldwide FM, balancing highly palatable afro-jazz and highlife broadcasts with more up-tempo meetings of Kuduro, Gqom, and esoteric club sounds. 

She also runs global club focussed club nights Boko! Boko! and Club Yeke, with the latter also being a successful indie label set up in 2019, having released underground electronic music from South Africa, Jamaica, Brazil, The US, Portugal and the UK. 

With the backing of some of dance music’s most influential institutions and an effortless ability to command a dance floor, Tash has quickly become one of the UK’s most exciting talents.
