Daniel Allan - There for You

When RUNN sent Sunburn to me, I was HOOKED by her vocal and the story she tells throughout the song.

I was stuck for a while with the song and had a few ideas that didn't match up quite well enough. Once I started playing with the strings, it felt natural to write the entire song through the lens of an orchestra (+ guitar).

The Mauritshuis, a beautiful museum in my hometown The Hague, displays some of the most famous Dutch historic paintings. They invited me for a private tour and told me all the beautiful stories behind these works of art. They asked me to pick a painting, and write a song about the feeling it provokes within me.
