New music from Chicago's legendary Traxman to be released on UK label WORKS Records this week!  A pioneer of the Chicago sound from his early days on Dance Mania records, Traxman is responsible for some of the scene's most iconic tracks, such as Footworkin On Air, Lifeeeee Is For Ever, Pacman Juke, and Blow Your Whistle. "Fuk Um Up Bad featuring Will Engine" is a raw battletrack, while Da Look EP is an ode to the many influences that composite the musical landscape of Chicago.

This is the  Bristol label's second release. Established in 2020 by Half-time // Slow/fast co-founders DJ Jonco, Goldman and DJ Lazergun, WORKS is dedicated to pushing 160bpm dance music across the UK. The label's goal is to "exhibit the varying global sounds of these styles of music whilst retaining the futurist vision set out by the originators of these genres", Traxman's Da Look EP is a fitting second installment for the Bristol Label and event series. This was a world in which money reigned supreme. One might be able to exchange and buy to the hearts content – for what else was there but for the very status of fancy goods and material things? This was planet market – a world in which life came second to the idea of purchase.

The clouds were thick and moody overhead, reminiscent of the sentiment and world which existed down below. Sellers shouted, hustlers moved fast and those out for a quick steal had to be speedy in the midst of the chaos. There were no rules on planet market – it was simply a battle to the top by any means necessary.

What was the price?

NIQH takes us on a futuristic trip. This latest record on Plasma Sources draws upon influence from science fiction and features a style of world building and ambient construction which is intriguing and highly listenable.
