Well known for his mastery in this lane with countless sentimental tracks in his catalog, he flawlessly balances these sweet synths with deep rolling bass. The perfect amount of percussion is peppered on top, showing itself only when needed, putting the melodic elements front and center. Notorious for pairing anxious rhythms with saccharine harmonies, Manny has long been the master of romantic footwork, and here he once again reminds us how important R&B is to his sound.

Over the last thirteen years, DJ Phil has evolved from a protege and student of the late DJ Rashad to one of the most ambitious core members of Chicago's Teklife collective. 

While he contributed to many iconic releases like 'Double Cup' and produced iconic remixes for Machinedrum or Scratcha DVA, DJ PHIL did not release a lot of solo projects outside of rare EPs for Nightslugs or Ghettophiles + appearances on Moveltraxx' Street Bangers Factory compilations so we are especially thrilled to released his new record. 

'Boarding Pass : Prelude To The Flight' has everything you could dream of from a DJ PHIL EP: epic battle tracks, club ready beats, lush synth and vocals with soul and  jungle influences fusing Chicago's rich history of house music with more modern juke/footwork.
