Please let me present to you a piece very close to my Russian heart. It's my instrumental arrangement of a charming traditional piece called Yolochka - В лесу родилась ёлочка! or A Fir Tree Born in the Forest!  The Russian lyrics tell essentially the following story

The Little Fir Tree,
Is freezing in the cold,
Take it from the forest,
Home for household.
How many garlands,
Hanging from of the tree,
Pink and blue ribbons,
Golden balls you'll see!
Elegant branch get low
Treat us with chocolate
Let us dance together,
Hold each other's hands,
Next to the Fir tree,
We are all your friends!

So you can imagine those lyrics as you listen to my track entitled Yolochka (Little Fir Tree). A large fir tree is called Yolka like the one you can see on the cover of my track in front the Saint Basil's Cathedral in Moscow (yes, it's a real photograph, not some CGI!).

The Guitar says...

THE GARDEN is a guitar piece where I explore different styles of acoustic guitar music from different parts of the World. Bossa, Tango, Jazz, Blues, Flamenco, etc. I had to think of a botanical garden, where plants from all over the World coexist and form a beautiful coherent whole.

The Garden | Dan van den Berg

This recording shows that an adult beginner can interpret a piano piece very emotionally after only a few months of Claviertuoso piano lessons. The melancholic arc of tension of this interpretation requires a very nuanced approach. Le Chat is the soundtrack to the French drama of the same name, for which Philippe Sarde wrote the music.

Beyond Dreams - Part 2

In my native country I composed for symphonic and chamber orchestras, for solo instruments and also for voice/choirs. Since then, with the help of technology, I added many other genres: jazz, techno, rock, pop, ambient, ethnic, music for video, etc.*

I now live and work near Montreal, Canada where I have my own well-equipped production studio. I finally have the luxury of being able to compose purely for pleasure and explore new musical horizons.

I always remain open for collaborations on interesting and challenging projects. I can even survive deadlines and lack of proper budget :)
