Lagu fenomenal ini memiliki keunikan dan kemegahan tersendiri ditelinga saya. Izinkan saya untuk memberikan persembahan kepada band legendaris Queen.

Berikut ini adalah fakta - fakta dari lagu Bohemian Rhapsody.

1. "Bohemian Rhapsody" selama sembilan minggu berturut-turut bertengger di peringkat 1 UK Single Chart sampai akhir tahun 1975. Mengekor dibelakang David Whitfield dengan "Cara Mia" (10 minggu, 1954) dan Slim Whitman dengan "Rose Marie" (11 minggu, 1955).

2. Produser "Bohemian Rhapsody", Roy Thomas Baker, adalah salah satu produser Guns N 'Roses' selama pembuatan album "Chinese Democracy". Baker keluar dari proyek itu tahun 2000 karena tak bisa memperoleh suara gitar yang pas, setidaknya di telinga Axl Rose.

3. Scaramouche adalah karakter dari komedi dell'arte, badut yang selalu berhasil lolos dari situasi sulit. Ia selalu menemukan jalan keluar, biasanya dengan mengorbankan orang lain. Nama aslinya 'Scaramuccia' yang berarti 'pertempuran'.

4. Diputar di radio pertama kali oleh komedian Kenny Everett, saat itu ia adalah seorang DJ di Capital radio. Pada awalnya ia pikir lagu itu sangat lama, tetapi setelah mendengar, lagu itu mencuri hatinya. "Lupakan soal durasinya yang setengah jam, lagu itu akan menjadi nomor satu selama berabad-abad!" ujar Kenny.

5. Freddie Mercury memainkan piano sama dengan yang dimainkan Paul McCartney untuk lagu "Hey Jude".

6. EMI dan Elektra di Inggris mencoba untuk memotong lagu epik tersebut. "Mereka mengatakan itu terlalu panjang dan tidak akan berhasil. Kami pikir, 'Yah kita bisa memotongnya, tapi itu tidak akan masuk akal', sekarang atau selamanya; Anda akan kehilangan semua suasana hati yang berbeda dari lagu tersebut. Jadi kita mengatakan tidak. Begitu adanya atau tidak sama sekali," ujar Roger Taylor sang drummer.

7. Lagu ini adalah bayi Freddie. "Dia tahu persis apa yang dia lakukan ... Kami hanya membantu dia membawanya ke kehidupan," tutur Brian May pada tahun 2002

8. Bagian opera lagu itu membutuhkan lebih dari 70 jam untuk menyelesaikan.

9. Freddie menulis seluruh lagu - termasuk harmoni - pada buku telepon dan potongan-potongan kertas, membuatnya menjadi agak rumit bagi rekan seband-nya untuk mengerti.

10. Setelah pemutaran pertama di Capital radio muncul request dari pendengar yang jumlahnya diluar kendali. EMI menyadari bahwa mereka memiliki sebuah hit - 'yang tidak biasa' - di tangan mereka. Saat itulah EMI sepakat untuk merilis lagu itu dengan format yang utuh.

11. 180 overdub diperlukan untuk membuat lagu itu menjadi sebuah 'masterpiece'. 180! Luar biasa.

12. Lagu ini hanya menduduki posisi 9 di Amerika pada saat dirilis awal. Tapi 'kegaduhan' dalam mobil di film "Wayne’s World" ketika mereka mendengarkan "Bohemian Rhapsody" membuat hit lama itu melejit kembali ke peringkat 2 di tahun 1992, dibelakang Kriss Kross dengan "Jump".

13. Pada tahun 2007, Radio 1 mengaku ini adalah lagu yang paling sering mereka putar sejak stasiun radio itu berdiri.

14. Saat membawakan "Bohemian Rhapsody" secara live, Queen lebih suka menggunakan kaset untuk bagian opera.

15. Video klipnya 'hanya' menghabiskan GBP 4500 yang menggambarkan saat pembentukan band, mirip sampul album  "Queen II" yang dirilis 18 bulan sebelumnya. Rupanya, mereka menyukai image diri mereka seperti itu.
