The Bir Sreshtho (Bengali: বীরশ্রেষ্ঠ) (The Most Valiant Hero), is the highest military award of Bangladesh. It was awarded to seven freedom fighters who showed utmost bravery and died in action for their nation. They are considered martyrs.

I had the greatest privilege to narrate the stories of these great sons of Bangladesh!  

I thank Radio Bhumi- the talented youth group who, planned, did the scripts after lot of research, recorded and edited the podcasts. It's a milestone for Bangladesh that these podcasts went on air on 16th of December, 2012, on the glorious Victory Day.

International Mother Language Day was first announced by UNESCO on 17 November 1999. 

The date represents the day in 1952 when students demonstrating for recognition of their language, Bengali, as one of the two national languages of the then Pakistan, were shot and killed by police in Dhaka, the capital of what is now Bangladesh.

Police declared Section 144 which banned any sort of meeting. Defying this, the students of University of Dhaka and Dhaka Medical College and other political activists started a procession on February 21, 1952. Near the current Dhaka Medical College Hospital, police fired on the protesters and numerous people, including Abdus Salam, Mohammad Rafique, Shafiur Rahman, Abul Barkat and Abdul Jabbar, died.

These radio podcasts are produced on the great Language Martyrs. Again, it's a great production from Radio Bhumi and I felt great being the narrator, once again.
