Dans ce nouveau projet, dynamisé par les percussions de son fils Naghib, Saeid Shanbehzadeh engage un dialogue fécond avec la guitare de Manu Codjia, l’un de ses plus fidèles compagnons sur la route du jazz contemporain. Leurs improvisations insufflent un esprit neuf à l’héritage culturel iranien toujours mis en valeur. Rendant un double hommage aux traditions afro-iraniennes venues de sa mère et baloutches venues de son père, Shanbehzadeh associe cornemuse et saxophone à la voix magnifique de Rostam Mirlashari, un “prince de la musique du Baloutchistan” exilée en Suède en 1991. La cohésion de leur musique esquisse la profondeur de l’héritage mutuel qui les unit dans cette collaboration.
