Raag Tilang -Tilang is full of the feeling of having tried hard to impress, but the feeling that the effort made has not been appreciated. However, the atmosphere is not of anger or upset, but of brooding, as the person you are trying to impress is very dear to you.

I created this track with the intention to share my internal expression. I use the Dilruba as a tool to express...My focus is not on musical expression but emotional expression through sound. 

Recently, the mood of Tilang has been resonating within me. When you give it your all. You put all the energy you have in to something or someone. You invest your love and entire being to this thing or person. You give everything that you have, yet...it’s still not good enough or goes unseen. It just wasn’t worth it to this thing or person....what you are left experiencing is- Tilang. I composed this track to express my internal conflict and it’s expression. It helped me feel better...maybe it can help you too...

Raag Majh- Vaheguroo

Gauri creates a mood where the listener is encouraged to strive harder in order to achieve an objective. However, the encouragement given by the Raag does not allow the ego to increase. This, therefore, creates the atmosphere where the listener is encouraged, but still prevented from becoming arrogant and self-important.

Happy Vaisakhi- 
When we are not invested in love with the creator, everything becomes complicated and we suffer…why do u think good will happen O’ my dear mind as there is nothing to reap at this Vaisakhi? Did you sow the seeds of love?
Family and all this wealth will not be the end fruit you will need so don’t just put everything of yours only to maintain this worldly relationship. 

Your connection to your source is your real crop so look after that and take good care of your heart work. This is my request to you my mind. So that we celebrate our Vaisakhi as all the farmers in this world who gained at the end of their crop season with gains. 

Raag Majh was composed by the Fifth Guru. The Raag’s origins are based in Punjabi Folk Music and its essence was inspired by the Majha region’s traditions of “Ausian”; the game of waiting and yearning for the return of a love done. The feelings evoked by this Raag have often been compared to that of a mother waiting for her child to return after a long period of separation.Shehasananticipationandhopeforthechild’sreturn,although at the same moment she is painfully aware of the uncertainty of their return home. This Raag brings to life the emotion of extreme love and this is highlighted by the sorrow and anguish of separation.

Vadhans  The mood that helps us deal with the many dichotomies we face in life. It captures the very essence of life and death—whether it’s the death of our physical being and the merging of our soul with  the creator, or the loss of a life once lived, now transformed into a new one with new meaning. Marriage is a prime example. Vadhans is a celebration and acceptance of what once was and what is to come now. There is excitement in it. There is joy and euphoria in the changes yet to come. It allows the mind to celebrate change while diminishing the pain associated with it.  It’s such a powerful raag—at a deeper level, it reflects the soul’s desire to find truth and purity in a world of distractions. The soul rejoices in this journey, and this elation overshadows all that is lost along the way. The loss becomes a celebration.  Vadhans can be used in many ways. For example, if you are transitioning into a new phase of life or feel stuck, Vadhans can help inspire the mind to embrace the process of change with joy. It helps you become unstuck. It can also be used to help with grief and bereavement, allowing one to celebrate the loss, deal with the associated pain, and move through the grieving process.  I could go on, but for now, I’ll leave it at that.  Understanding raags to this depth requires learning them through the Gram Moorchana system. Using a system created in the early 1900s to understand raags isn’t the best approach…

Raag Vadhans Alaap

Tilang is a mood we feel very often, more than we realize— especially in the world we live in today. It almost always surfaces when our expectations aren't met. If we imagine a cup filled with moments of frustration, annoyance, and broken expectations, we are collectively filled to the brim.

 For many, a small incident can involuntarily release a flood of stored emotions from that cup. When this release happens, the volcanic eruption is damaging-many relationships begin to fall apart due to unaddressed Tilang. Those who try to put a lid on it to avoid the explosion often implode, and the effects are far more damaging to oneself.
There are many things going on in today's world that add to our 'cup. We are frustrated with our governments, outraged by atrocities being committed, irritated by people we don't even know, overwhelmed by the news, and frustrated at work, at home, with our loved ones, and most deeply, with ourselves. 

Raag Tilang offers a beautiful solution-it helps us release the stored emotions of Tilang that accumulate in our
'cup' within. It helps us feel lighter and emotionally validated.
It gives us the opportunity to feel and see things clearly, build better internal dialogue, and, even better, we are no longer living on edge. Our approach to life changes, and in turn makes the world a more livable place-

Raags are more than just musical performances. They go beyond vocal and instrumental skills. The tuned sound that emerges through Raag is the end result; Raag begins much earlier. It is an unmoving belief that what has been achieved is true and positive, which leads to a hunger and desire to progress to the next stage. Although there is immense confidence in the achievement, there is no conceit or vanity in the accomplishment.
