Opening with the title track, we’re immediately treated to a funky bassline, which hooks us in straight away. As the track progresses Deer Jade introduces flourishes of synth, before an ominous melody finally takes shape. This leads us into a stirring vocal, full of hope, love and optimism. It sounds vintage, yet modern, evoking a range of emotions. In the second half, the energy increases, with subtle strings and even more emotive vocal delivery.

‘Hypnotism’ closes out the EP. This driving cut has a dense low end, and techy elements that would be the perfect accompaniment to a vibrant dance floor, moving and shaking under the moonlight. The energy builds steadily, as Deer Jade adds new layers. Eventually it comes to a crescendo, where the breakdown invigorates the track even more. We move into a heady section of the cut, with uplifting pads and that oh-so-groovy bass taking us through to the end. Magic.
