We step into a pristine wilderness on the B-side, stately pads gliding over a supple rhythm section while tender chimes tug at your heartstrings. Emotion abounds on an instrumental which never was. Big boys do cry, and this dove’s weeping over broken wings…

Strange World

It’s a place of passing trains and the sounds of good music. It’s where day raves happen. This place gives a chance to young artists and DJs. It’s a place without which it’s hard now to imagine Vilnius nightlife. Yes, it’s PERONAS. It’s become like this mostly thanks to Jonas.

Black Feeling’s positive, energetic sets excite even the most modest. Jonas selection features a lot of Italo House and Italo Disco, their influence easily noticeable in the artist’s creations. His remix that was released on the Lithuanian WWW label attracted huge attention. Another remix came out very recently on the famous Lithuanian label Partyzanai and a vinyl release is also in the works.

There were strange ghouls and mysterious ghosts which haunted the streets at night. They left no trace by the light of the morning yet beneath the shadow of darkness they acted as reapers and villains, picking up lost souls. 

It was hard to say where they'd come from and how they'd found themselves to be in this world. They seemed to float faintly between the cobbled streets, leaving behind a cold chill in the dense fog of the midnight. 

Were they some kind of strange magic? Were they simply an illusion of the mind? Something we might want to believe in rather than a fact...?

Metropolitan Soul Museum have fast become a duo to keep an eye on - their music is distinctly innovative, drawing upon elements of krautrock and leftfield electronica. This time they offer up a collection of house based music for Public Release on an EP called 'The Pleasure Principle'. It's a strong EP.

You have also remixed the likes of Jaakko Eino Kalevi and given us a free download of it. You've been out on the ice making videos for your records and your Pink Industry outpouring has even been PIMPED.  You've even been in the national Lithuanian charts with a cover version of "Vamos ala playa" and hit number 19. Luckily nobody knows it was you.

Love Not Sex is the second Stubb release from Paper Recordings' Ben Davis (Flash Atkins) forthcoming on vinyl and digital.

The original is a melancholic slice of sunshine that draws inspiration from MOR and blue-eyed soul with a hefty dose of balearica. Acoustic guitars, Rhodes, live drums and strings plus Crazy P's Tim Davis on bass provide the perfect cinematic backdrop for the plaintive vocals of Huw Costin (Torn Sail) and Rachel Foster. 

Japanese edit hero Mori Ra delivers his first ever remix and its a doozy. Keeping the bones of the original track, he takes it in to dark psychedelic waters with the help of former_airline's tripped out guitar. A spoken vocal tips it in to full Balearic wonkiness that will have the likes of DJ Harvey and Bjørn Torske getting hot under their disco beards.

Bergen's Leca employs his trademark stripped back crisp production for a warm, dreamy remix. Steel guitar, clicks, whirrs and a Nordic playfulness make for a cosmic journey to the Northern Lights.
