Like that part of the song where everything but the kick drum cuts out so much you wish it could last forever?  This is kinda like that.

Palfrath

The melody for this is actually based on the somewhat abnormal rhyme scheme I had used to write a poem called visine, which was about how sleep deprivation is similar in many ways to a narcotic.  An unpleasant eye irritating brain mushing narcotic.

I was flipping through channels one day and came across some behind the scenes thing where Linkin Park were basically playing with their synth while testing the sound at some outdoor concert.  I recognized immediately that I had just come across a similar sounding sound and felt compelled to milk all the cheese I could out of it.

Uncomfortably Numb

I was introduced to Homestarrunner when my then girlfriend showed me the techno Strong Bad Email episode because she thought she was making fun of me.  I fell in love with the site and after a while I ended up emailing the brothers chaps requesting some original sound files from the sbtechno song so I could make a track.  Unfortunately the only guitar sample I had at the time was a short G chord (which is not the key of the song so took some editing).  Other than that I regret nothing.  May not be my best track but it's my favorite.

Currently working on breakbeat songlets, inspired by electro swing, though haven't really stuck to the "swing" part quite so much.  But still, sax, guitar, trumpet, piano, to breakbeat drums.

I used to produce hardcore techno under the name Timberwolf using a simple sequencer and any wav files I could find at small open source sample websites, back before VST plugins were a thing and the only samples I knew how to make myself were the kick drums.  I have no excuses for the rest of their issues.
