The Ascent

Under the Rose came to life from me and my friend Charlie playing "Under the Canopy" from my Saudade record at a brighter tempo. It also acts as a "zoom in" and look at the hyper personal per- spective as opposed to the universal, speaking to all that goes on underneath the rose in the cacophony of an endless jungle. And the melody, like the hidden activity beneath the earth's surface, (or just behind your eyes) is hinting at the rich soil "Under the Rose". The madness and the calm of the human mind.
