The debut EP titled ‘Catching Thistle Seeds’, represents the authentic light and shade to life, as well as being the thread through these love songs. The idea arose when reflecting on how as a child he would see a thistle seed floating in the air and make a wish. At the time they appeared so magical, however as an adult Taylor came to realise thistle seeds are a weed, thus he developed a bittersweet conflicting feeling about them. Taylor loved the realisation that through perspective and belief, even a weed can be viewed as something beautiful which highlights the fragility of love and life. The tracks on this EP explores all the positives and negatives of relationships, so this confliction felt symbolic.

The four track EP ‘Catching Thistle Seeds’ was initially set to release late 2017, however after experiencing deep profound self-doubt, the singer-songwriter chose to hold back the project until he overcame his fears and found his creative confidence. This time allowed Taylor to start his own production journey further cementing his sound.

The completed EP now set to release September 2022 tells of Taylor’s persistence and determination in overcoming one’s fears and letting go. Having written these tracks between 2015-2017, Taylor acknowledges that he has since written more mature songs, however this project represents a promise to his younger self and proof that he has developed the self-belief necessary for this career path. Although they belong in his earlier discography, these four tracks are not without merit, as he has played them extensively around Melbourne bars, with them being his most requested songs by his recurring audiences. Taylor aims to keep producing emotive music that inspires listeners to be drawn into his own experiences and truth as he continues to release heart piercing tracks.
