Gruesome killings like this aren’t supposed to happen in picturesque towns like these.

When a rookie detective hears about the disappearance of 9-year-old Emma Greene from her old hometown, she feels compelled to investigate. Nestled in the Pacific Northwest near an old-growth forest, her rural hometown isn’t quite the idyllic place she remembered it to be. The shadows, stares, and eerie foreboding silence will lead her to uncover the dark underbelly of this town and its residents.

Her investigation starts now, and she’ll do whatever it takes to track down the relentless killer the town is now calling “Slack Jaw”.

Balthazar's Dream OST | The Dream Forest

I have always enjoyed a genre of Japanese anime known as "Slice Of Life" (hence the title). 

I have always interpreted the intent of such anime to be the presentation of the best parts of an idyllic, simple existence, with only as much artifice as is necessary to bring out the best qualities of that which already exists in nature.

I like to think this is an accurate interpretation as it would line up with the philosophies behind most types of traditional Japanese arts and craftsmanship.

Through a contemporary smooth jazz/instrumental pop lens, I hope to similarly explore simple ideas and emotions that reside in our basic natures, such as joy and hope.

"Slice of Life" is the first of what I hope will be a long stream of works in this vein.
