I think of my friends when I hear this song

There was something magical and frightening about the way the wolf looked at me from the shadows of the forest. His eyes, a deep yellow, seemed to hold a cry that never came out, as if calling for help without a voice. The night mist thickened around me as I approached, each step filled with doubt and fear. Something in me insisted I shouldn’t go on, but curiosity and an inexplicable empathy pushed me to continue.

As I arrived in front of the wolf, his figure began to fade. A black mist enveloped him, distorting his silhouette until he disappeared completely. When the mist finally dissipated, I was paralyzed. There, on the ground, lay an unconscious man. His pale skin and bare torso showed deep marks on his back, as if something had been ripped out of him. Beside him, two mangled wings, stained with blood and dust, looked like fragments of a broken dream.

Carefully, I lifted the man, my heart beating frantically at the strangeness of the situation. The wings, fragile and still imbued with a faint unearthly glow, I picked them up as well. I didn’t know what to do, but something in me compelled me to protect it. I carried him to my home, trying hard to ignore the fear I thought I felt.

When I arrived, I settled him on my bed and put the wings aside. Exhaustion overcame me and I fell into a restless sleep. When I awoke, however, the man was gone, and so were the wings. My room was empty, and for a moment I doubted if it had all been a dream.

I approached the mirror, looking for answers. But the reflection I found was not mine. There he was, with a determined countenance and two imposing black wings extending from my back. Before I could process what had happened, a clap of thunder echoed through the air, and the room filled with shadowy figures. Demons, their eyes burning like embers, prostrated themselves before me.

At that moment I understood: it had always been me. A fallen angel, doomed to wander between heaven and hell. My true nature had awakened, and the world would never be the same again.
