I wrote this when I first arrived in the mountains between France and Switzerland. It's a track about how what we build on the sand, God will blow it away. It's a track about losing and it's a track about being completely alone and without anything in order to be completely set free. 

Broken Miles

I feel like it's becoming a theme that I upload before I am happy with the track but I am just going to accept this is a demo for what I want to later do with it because I cannot do any more takes. I am out of takes.

It's about the chasm between moving on and desperately wanting to not let go. It's about the space between halcyon days and heartbreak. It's a song about Wednesdays and Thursdays and the French postal system.

For the first few weeks and months of living in France I would drive to Lausanne three evenings a week, each time driving through the winter night with my head in a cloud. There was something about those nights on the autoroute. Something I wanted to capture, and I hope this song did so.
