MOSHTRQ VA01: Stepping away from the realms of live performance, MOSHTRQ announces their first musical work as a collective, drawn from an extensive unreleased catalogue, and bringing together crew, friends, and collaborators.

"Made this one as a sort of challenge beat for the rappers in my circle, to see who could spit over a tempo increase on an already wonky beat. Safe to say Dakn was the only MC with the skills to keep up (yet again!)

Jannah Al Yasmeen (which means Jasmine Heaven) is the new EP from
 Sudanese electronic musician Zaher Nasr, who goes by Taz Waves. The
 EP features five singles that blend electronic music with traditional
 Sudanese sounds to create a unique listening experience. Each song
 takes you on a journey, showcasing raw emotions and cultural richness.
 This EP tells a story through music. Zaher's three years in Amman,
 Jordan, inspired him to make Jannah Al Yasmeen. The project looks at
 love, ego, and people's need to explore. It aims to connect Sudanese
 musical roots with electronic sounds from around the world.

Taz (b. 1999) is a Sudanese electronic music producer and audio engineer whose work draws from a broad spectrum of Sudanese sound—heard in daily life, remembered across borders, and reimagined for contemporary ears. Raised in Saudi Arabia and later living in Sudan and Jordan, Taz’s music reflects a long-standing commitment to listening closely to Sudanese culture—wherever it lives, travels, or takes root.

In 2017, Taz relocated to Port Sudan after spending most of his life in Riyadh. The move marked not just a shift in place, but a return to something deeply rooted. In Sudan, music was everywhere—in streets, buses, and corner shops—and he began collecting old recordings, sampling them into textured, emotionally resonant beats. These early works gave rise to his first musical persona, The Unknown Traveler, and a series of beat tapes shaped by both personal experience and a wider, cross-border cultural memory.

While studying audio engineering in Amman, Taz refined his sound—blending synthesis, sound design, and live performance with a deep archive of Sudanese samples. His early sets introduced a new kind of Sudanese electronic music to the city’s dancefloors: sharp, club-ready tracks that didn’t aim to reinvent the wheel, but to speak clearly and urgently to the present moment. With appearances at venues like The Village, The Cellar, and Bar Shams, he brought a sound that felt both rooted and unmistakably of now.

Taz is currently based in Port Sudan, where he is completing his debut album, The Electronic Sounds of Sudan.
