Since I was a child, I have always struggled with Chopin's Etudes.
They were so beautiful and Western that I felt they were unsuitable for me.
I couldn't understand how to interpret them or what was enjoyable about them.
Now, as an adult, I create etudes in a completely different world from Chopin.
It's like clearing my mind, as if I were undergoing waterfall meditation.
A Japanese Etude, perhaps.

子供の頃から、ショパンのエチュードが苦手だった。
あまりに美しくて、西洋的で、私には不釣り合いだと思った。
解釈の仕方がわからないくて、何が楽しいのかわからなかった。
大人になった今、ショパンとは全く違った世界線で、エチュードを作ってみる。
頭を空っぽにして滝行してるみたいな、
日本人のエチュード、かな。
