Roli is a Slovenian DJ and promotor, head honcho at Analogue/Digital, where he is focusing on spreading and sharing his passion for electronic music with like-minded artists, on to the worldwide crowd. Beside DJing he's sharing his work online with his series of podcasts as well as throwing parties mostly at club Mostovna, located in his hometown of Nova Gorica. From time to time he is also active in few clubs in Ljubljana, Slovenia's capital. His sound varies from Techno to House and all mixed in between Acid, EBM, Electro and UK Bass.

Helter (@heltermusic) has stomped his way onto the scene with little more than a name and a track back in January; however, when strong enough there's not much else that's needed. Today we’re highlighting another spellbinder from Helter’s upcoming and self-released debut. “Realtime” finds itself residing in the 5 spot of this release, though don’t let that deter from its stunning quality. “Realtime” makes use of a melodic, hearty bassline, fluttering tonal washes and truly rolling percussion to whisk listeners to a fuzzy headspace full of muted hues. It’s distorted pads and haunting, yet fleeting vocal stabs place this number squarely between the clouds and the dancefloor, perhaps even bringing them together to create a unique atmosphere, both grounded and soaring. Serenace, a mysterious duo based in Chicago and Berlin joins the Shaw Cuts squad with “The Flying Guillotine“ – a weapon shaped like a hat with a blade rim and chain attached. 
The weapon serves to brutally quash any defiance against the ironfisted Emperor Yung and his regime. The enforcers are twelve specially trained fighters, The Flying Guillotine squadron. “Sheltered In Absence“, its pushing drums and energetic synth elements, chimes to the cruel deeds of the squadron. 
The guard Ma Teng flees when he witnesses the brutality unleashed by the men and the lethal weapon. The raging emperor commands his fighters to capture him, but Ma has disappeared into thin air. „Vitrine“, a diverse groove combining swinging percussions and warm melodies circles over head, helping Ma to stay undercover. 
The slaughter continues as the squadron relentlessly search for Ma. Ma turns back and confronts the army. Equipped with his own deadly weapon, he joins forces with Kreggo and his „2in1“ remix version, wiping out the squadron one by one. 
„Spun Coral“ sweeps in, drowning out the sound of guillotines gliding through the air until the last member falls. Silence reigns over the battlefield. But the myth of the fatal weapon remains.

[SC009] SERENACE - THE FLYING GUILLOTINE (W/ KREGGO REMIX)

The time feels about right for Ole Mic Odd’s offering to the Aperitif series. For this mix, The New U.S. Government’s head of state takes us out for a nice summer drive across interstate lines. 

Strictly composed of his own productions and using different aliases at times, this collage displays Oli’s versatility as a producer and his admirable attention to detail not only as a selector but also as an executor. 
A vast array of styles, strategically arranged one after another and abruptly interrupted by intermission samples or hotel field recordings is what binds this journey tight and gives it its true DIY essence.

Apart from keeping busy with production duties,  Ole, real name Michael,  is a talented graphic designer and founder of the cassette imprint The New U.S. Government. The latest addition to its steady growing catalogue is a ten-track VA with music from artists like Egzotikka, Drum Machine, Drvg Culture, to name a few.

Ticco Ross - Exploring The Deep [LP]

After a short holiday break we are happy to share the next Rubber Tijd with you. We warmly welcome our first artist of the year and number 81 on the show: Eddie Peake. 

For this podcast Peake presents Memory Cycle 2, an audio piece from a series of sound works he has been making in recent years.

“They are an attempt to recreate as definitive recordings the live DJ sets I play in my performance work. Whereas in my performances they are ephemeral and reactive, here they are somewhat more calculated, although in both instances, chance and coincidence is important. They are collages of looping motifs drawn from a palette of original recordings, voice memos and field-recordings to evoke a sense of nostalgia, the subjective and inaccurate nature of memories, the repetitive and spiralling ideation of an obsessive or psychopathic mind.”

Eddie Peake is a London based Artist and DJ and his work includes performance, video, photography, painting, sculpture, sound and installation. It has tended to take the form of non-linear, immersive exhibitions, usually presented as a web of incongruously and yet inextricably connected discrete objects. Looping or repetitive forms are a prominent element, as is the theme of the inadequacy of verbal language in representing phenomena such as emotions, memories or modes of communication which are not verbal. Another of its foci is the implicit drama within relationships between people, whether they are familial, professional, romantic, sexual or social, and how desire, sexuality, socio-political and cultural constructs, as well as psychological states such as depression impact on them. Peake also DJs under a pseudonym and runs a record label imprint called Hymn.
