Time Flies By

Got called up as a last minute replacement for Huntleys & Palmers on the first night of the Mad Ferret stage at Unknown in Croatia this year.

It's Christmas. Wouldn't it be nice to hear something which fits the season but isn't the same old shite you hear in every single shop? Well here you go; Messrs Teamy and David Barbarossa will be your jolly, rotund and bearded saviours for the next three quarters of an hour.

Teamy can be seen and heard in London's South Place Hotel most nights as well as at the Wrong Island party in Glasgow's Nice & Sleazy, on the second Saturday of the month.

A Fun Sized Christmas

If you come to Wrong Island in Glasgow, around 1-2Am it sounds very much like this.

Five years ago we got asked to do a party at Sleazy's as part of their new 3AM licence. We jumped at the chance though we were a bit wary that we'd be the sore thumb, the odd-one-out, playing techno records in the basement of an indie stronghold. But after the first night, we knew we were onto something; the real omen of good things to come was a busy dancefloor with two 18-20 year old girls in flashing bunny ears drinking four pint pitchers at the front of the room.
Since then it's just gotten better and better and we feel whilst you don't read about us on blogs or in magazines (we don't put on many guests any more so it's hard to get that press and to be honest we don't court it), Wrong Island is always the busiest night Sleazy's has on.
But that's down to you lot: the people who come down every month and fill the place with sweaty bodies; the people who punch the ceiling; the people who invade the stage and make the records skip. It really is a genuine pleasure to do this party with and for you all.

Actions speak louder than words though. Teamy moved to London exactly one year ago but still makes the trip up to play the club as often as possible. By the time he's got the train ticket and everything else, it's not exactly a massive money maker but that doesn't matter, even to walk away with £2.50 for the bus to Central Station would be a pleasure.

So please come down to Sleazy's on the 8th and join us for a massive rammy to celebrate five years of this wonderful 'best-kept secret' we have.

Wrong Island 'Stage Invasion' Mix.

Larry and I were asked to do a mini mix for Radio 1 featuring at least 10 tracks in only 7 mins, which is a bit of a task for us as we're not really 2 many DJs type guys. Still, after a little bit of tinkering and a few hairs pulled out of our heads, we managed to put this together on Ableton...I'm quite proud of it; it gets across what Wrong Island is all about without taking up hours of your precious time.

Brian and Teamy shoot the breeze, discussing what inspires Auntie Flo, a shared love of 'World' music (and a shared distaste for that term) as well as pondering on why so many musicians come from their hometown.

Last year was a big one for Brian with the release of his debut album, 'Rhythm Machine' on Huntleys & Palmers and the fantatic 'Sun Ritual' on the seminal Kompakt Speicher series (last minute contender for record of the year for Teamy). Expect big things from Auntie Flo in 2012
