Goldroom - Adalita (feat. Chela)

Personal Best Records are proud to announce their inaugural release "Born On The Wind" by Holiday Sidewinder & PBO will be released on Friday August 15, 2014 via Personal Best/MGM.

"Born On The Wind" is an airy, ethereal track that straddles indie-pop, dance and neo-boogie, with hints of Kate Bush wafting through its production, which filters and juggles Fairlight and vocal samples with skittering guitars and a prominent rolling synth bass line.

After the disbandment of Bridezilla in early 2013, founding member and vocalist Holiday Sidewinder re-located to London and not long after was approached by PBO to lend her unique voice to the track that would become "Born On The Wind".

"Born on the wind, by the wrath of the sea, under the sky's infinity, 1966"

Just before last Christmas, Sidewinder was given a small gift; the only ring from her Grandfather to her Grandmother, inscribed with these words, giving her an incredibly rare insight into the intimacy of their relationship, especially considering she has only ever known them to be separated.

Belgium’s music scene has few cornerstones. R&S set a first in the 80s, Soulwax came in the 90s and Eskimo emerged in the early 00s, its evolution since more colourful than all of them combined. Taking music into emotion, introducing new names and spotlighting the cream of the current crop, ‘The Orange Collection’ is bright, genial and buoyant. 

‘The Orange Collection’ is the latest installment in a new compilation series on Eskimo based around colours. Following the lauded first three chapters in this enterprising series -Pink, Blue and Green- Eskimo once again selected 12 songs with exquisite care. An effortless journey encompassing a range of sounds through indie dance, nu disco and electronica, it’s reassuring to find that Eskimo still stands for timeless quality and originality.

TWINKIDS’ debut EP “Boys Love” comes out August 18th, with the EP title paying homage to the gay romance manga genre of the same name. Drawing influence from 80’s J-pop and artists like Imogen Heap and Bonobo, the EP’s five songs tell coming-of-age stories about falling in love.

Following hot on the heels of his acclaimed 2nd album 'Solar Nights' German producer Tim Bernhardt, AKA Satin Jackets, returns to bring some much needed warmth to the winter with the release of the 'Golden Cage' EP. Featuring three brand new instrumental tracks, the 'Golden Cage' EP sees Bernhardt venture into more introspective territory, eschewing the more upfront pop direction of recent collaboration with Panama, 'Electric Blue', for something softer and more intimate. 

Easing us into the EP, 'Coffee and Feels' is both classic Satin Jackets and aptly titled. A comforting blend of warm synth pads, gently unfolding arpeggios and plaintive guitar all wrapped in soft gauzy textures, 'Coffee and Feels' is just the thing to kickstart your day on a mellow autumnal morning.

Whilst 'Solar Nights' showcased Bernhardt's skill at crafting thoughtful left field pop music and coaxing the best out of lyricists and singers alike, the 'Golden Cage' EP reveals he's still a dab hand when it comes to crafting dreamlike nu-disco, as warming as a mug of glühwein in midwinter.
