Situated in the busy commercial district of Tas-Sliema, Teatru Salesjan is the oldest existing theatre in the locality and one of the oldest working theatres in Malta. Founded in 1908 Teatru Salesjan has been an active focus for local creativity for many generations and retains its primary mission as a community theatre ‘in the hearts of its community‘.

112 years after the official opening of the theatre, Teatru Salesjan has redefined its identity. Looking at the original vision the theatre a century ago, it has re-dimensioned it to fit today’s cultural needs. Teatru Salesjan is now opening its doors to new artists who need a space in which to work and enhance their creative abilities.

Don’t forget that Teatru Salesjan is an independently-run theatre, and relies heavily on private funding to keep it running successfully all year round.
