TEC Ensemble was founded as a working ensemble for the Composition Workshops of the Encontres de Compositors, an initiative by composer Maties Far in collaboration with the Encontres de Compositors and the ACA Foundation.

Originally conceived as a platform for the training and specialization of composers based in the Balearic Islands, the project expanded in 2024 to welcome creators from around the world. From the outset, the ensemble has brought together performers and composers dedicated to the study and performance of contemporary music—creation understood both as action and as reflection.

Throughout five consecutive workshops, the group has gradually shaped its identity, defining a sound and a context for artistic creation and performance rooted in the Balearic Islands. Always driven by curiosity and a commitment to learning, TEC Ensemble explores extended techniques and new relationships between sound, science, and nature.

At its core lies a desire to communicate creative processes to audiences, while navigating the complex dialogue with tradition—both the one we inherit and the one we are continuously creating.
