Lego joins for DifferentSound Podcast #157.

Born in Stockholm Lego got by the age of 16 enchanted by the track Pass This On produced by the Swedish sibling duo The Knife, and from this moment on she fell in love with electronic music. She started to explore the techno scene in Sweden as well as world wide which soon inspired her to start doing underground raves and monthly club nights in diferent clubs in her hometown. In 2012 the will of spreading her own favourite tunes lead her into the DJ-booth. Her driving, trippy and hypnotic sets have since then taken her to festivals like Exit in Serbia, Eden Hill Festival in Taiwan, and Freedom Festival in Colombia, as well as clubs like Tresor in Berlin, Tango in Paraguay, Ved Siden Af in Copenhagen and Hall in Tallin, to name a few. Lego also holds a recidency at the German Schumacher Club in Bochum. In 2022 she had her frst release on the Norwegian imprint Krill Music, where all profts from the sells are going to help the people of Ukraine during the war.

"I was 20 years old when I was first properly introduced to
electronic music. My musical background only consisted of having played “professionally” the recorder flute during my childhood, but not much apart from that.
I even recorded a few tapes back then, but mostly to satisfy my technical curiosity.
As soon as I was old enough though, I started traveling to nearby nightclubs and parties in larger cities with my friends. While others preferred dancing to Monica Kruse, I found myself more and more drawn towards the Schranz-floor. Although back then I hadn’t yet entirely grasped the importance that techno music would play for
me in the future.
At 24 I got hooked on Homo Elektrik, a party-collective from Leipzig, and my then girlfriend animated me to try out dj-ing. I bought myself two Technics mk2, that I still own today, got gifted a Gemini technomaster, and acquired myself a Vinyl bundle in 4/4 time.
Techno music is such a multifaceted music genre, so that I decided to stay faithful to it ever since. I only do Techno, 4 to the floor, it makes me very happy, especially when two different tracks mix and fuse together and start to groove." fr.JPLA

Drawing on his diverse cultural influences and immersive experiences, Perfo's musical journey is a testament to his ability to seamlessly blend different worlds into his sonic palette. 

With releases on esteemed labels like Mord Records, Hayes Collective & NRBK, Tommy Four Seven’s 47 imprint and Illegal Alien Records, Perfo has quickly established himself as a force to be reckoned within the emerging music landscape. His tracks are characterised by an evocative collage of textures, stirring atmospherics, and meticulously-crafted percussion, capturing the essence of both his origins and his eclectic surroundings in Berlin. Celebrating a recent electrifying set at Tresor, Perfo's ready to arise within the European electronic music scene, prepared to unveil his mesmerising sonic universe to audiences far and wide.

Born in France, and now based in Berlin since 7 years, has been honing his DJing craft for a decade now. 
An avid vinyl collector and techno and house enthusiast, his DJ sets and tracks combine raw, dark and deep elements with straightforward grooves reminiscent of the dark winter closings of Berlin techno clubs. 
He has been part of the founding team of Château Perché Festival in 2015 and he is resident DJ at the Château Perché Festival, and also host a monthly radio show on Keep It Radio Berlin. 
The radio show has been designed to create sonic atmospheres to allow some escape to the listener, some soundscape.

Luke Hess – Detroit, MI USA

Born in 1980 and raised in the Detroit area, Luke Hess has harnessed a deep appreciation for electronic music and the expression of the underground movement. His background in mathematics and engineering has given him a scientific approach to the dance floor, using frequencies, tones, and soundscapes to transform surroundings and mood. 

His faith based music production has landed him numerous vinyl releases (EP's, LP's, and remixes) on labels like Planet-e, Rekids, FXHE, Echocord, Kontra-Musik, Dolly, Finale Sessions, Ornaments, and Prime Numbers among others. His debut album was
released in early May 2009 by Denmark based label Echocord.

 In 2010 he began his own interpretation of Detroit techno with his Detroit project and record label - DeepLabs. His sophomore
album “Keep On” was released on FXHE records in 2012 and received a Recommended 4.5/5 rating on Resident Advisor. 

With 20 years of DJ experience, he is regarded as a perfectionist behind the decks layering his tracks in a very detailed and hypnotic manner. Luke has played at many notable venues and festivals in Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America including numerous appearances at the illustrious Berghain/Panoramabar in Berlin. Luke’s continued hard work in the studio and as a music collector/curator combined with his unyielding interest in technology and sound will no doubt stimulate the boundaries of electronic music.

Jeremías Hinojosa is a DJ and producer from Santiago, Chile, who started in electronic music in 2021. He focuses on a rhythmic and hypnotic sound combining environments, sounds and percussions to generate a constant journey of energy and movement through techno. His style is based on rhythmic sequences accompanied by thick bass and synthesizers.

Mauri has been mixing for the last 7 years and is a resident at Before au. Four years ago he began learning music production in Ableton. He is also the co-founder of Deeper Label Records and has released music on other labels as well such as Redlof, Misolarec and Technological Records. 

"I consider myself a versatile DJ. I love to play and mix different subgenres so in this mix I chose to play a Hypnotic/Deep Techno style, I hope you enjoy it".

This month, Desireè is playing for Platforms. Italian-born and London-based DJ Desireè draws heavy inspiration from the city’s underground scene. Her sets are defined by hypnotic, eerie sounds combined with pounding, groovy rhythms. 
As the founder of “Extraterrestrial Desire,” a podcast channel focused on sci-fi, ambient, and electronic soundscapes, and co-founder of the London-based collective “Polyritmica,” Desireè demonstrates her deep passion and dedication to the scene. This has secured her spots on lineups across the globe at some of the best underground clubs, including FOLD, Tresor, TES, Corsica Studios and E1. Desireè’s goal is to delve into unexplored emotions and perceptions, guiding dancers through rituals that transport them to another dimension.
