Do you use generative process for some tracks, and sequence others by hand? Or do you always do some combination of both? (ie generate lots of material, then prune it and arrange it by ear?) Some breakcore tracks, like this one, sound more human than others. I am absorbed into the patterns. Whereas it is harder to absorb myself into randomly generated patterns, which sound more like a texture than a really fast song. The more human it sounds, the more it engages my brain in an orgasm of expectation and surprise with respect to short-time perception. However I'm sure you could probably generate human-engaging patterns that play with expectation/surprise well. Markov chains? A preset pattern that repeats itself at different lengths of time, backwards, upside-down (like a fugue)? Thanks for reading \m/
