AstroPilot is a space electronic / progressive music project. Dmitriy Redko is the name behind AstroPilot. AstroPilot has been working with sound since 2000. Dmitriy has released 10 albums and 4 singles; he also has in his discography more than 30 compilations with his tracks released worldwide on various labels. He is one of the leading and most traveled ar tists from Russian and Ukrainian psychedelic scene. AstroPilot plays at many international festivals, outdoors and indoors events in Australia, Greece, France, Portugal, Israel, Monten egro, Bulgaria, Czech republic, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Belorussia, Russia, Ukraine. AstroPilot’s music style ranges from deep space ambient to atmospheric uptempo. Since 2010 music from this project has been used in the famous iPhone/iPad/iPod apps 'Solar Walk' and 'Star Walk'. After a little break, we are now delighted to welcome ALUNA to our podcast series.
 
ALUNA  depicts the joined talents and complementary creations of Maywa and Steffen Kirchhoff, world travellers and soul explorers. Their music project aspires to the creation and spreading of ritualistic music, leading the listeners to reconnect with the Earth, to harmonize with Nature, and with its endless wonders. It’s healing music, it’s music to dance, it’s music to love.
Their vision is embodied by their selection of sounds, idyllic melodies, and fascinating vocals, all permeated of Latin American flavours. In fact, their music project finds its origin in the Columbian forests where these beautiful souls first met, as soloist artists. The word ALUNA also descends from the natives of that land. Among the Kogi people, it stands for the “invisible spirit realm”, the source and intelligence of life. After that magic encounter, the two artists gathered again in April 2017 on the shores of the Baltic sea, where their first melodies were produced. This marked the nascence of ALUNA. Since then, the two started their spiritual journey across Europe spreading their message of reconciliation through live-sets, often uplifted by cacao ceremonies.
Talking about this set, Steffen stated “For UCR we wanted to create something really unique”, an unparalleled production by two inspired and inspiring artists, created with pure love. The enchanting blend of Maywa’s live vocals and Steffen’s organic sounds reproduces the vibe of their ceremonial live-sets. The magical journey begins with an invocation by Maywa who gently guides the listeners to connect with themselves, with their higher mind, with their essence, and to open an ethereal connection with the whole, with the elements, with the cosmos. The energy of the moon inspired her to plant the seed for this podcast. A deep travel into her sensibility and vulnerability prepared her soul to connect with the sounds and melodies that would have then composed the podcast. Those drive listeners through heavenly forests, in the inviolate Nature. A travel in space and time till the origin of the world. A dark silent world purely animated by the potential of life to exist.
Now lay back comfortable, dim the lights, make sure nobody will disturb the listening. Relax, take a deep breath, and enjoy the journey.

With her roman roots Amor Fati helps us to get into motion so that we can feel our bodies which are full of music and energy. The joy in music is a mirror of her openhearted personality and we are very happy that she is the one, handing over this little present at the end of the year :)

The philosophy of Kintsugi embraces our imperfections , allows us to be detached from accepting change , good and bad in our lives. By highlighting our flaws and vulnerabilities rather than hiding them , we can be truly authentic in the knowledge that no matter the damage in our lives , we are stronger , more beautiful , resilient and uniquely imperfect."

Echoes from Amor Fati - Kintsugi

As music lovers, we all asked ourselves at least once what music is about. What is its function? How did it become such an important component of our lives? Maguera (https://soundcloud.com/maguera) questioned himself about it too, and he concluded that for him it is all about communication and profound emotions. This talented Italo-Danish composer, musician, and electronic producer believes that music is the strongest medium available to reach people, and he employed it to send out a call to self-reflection to our listeners and to himself. In fact, he told us of his thoughts about the decreasing ability of the people to feel empathy and how this is affecting our essence. This is the main theme of the splendid mix he recorded for UCR. His concern towards the rising narcissism and egomania, as well as his hope for an imminent change of direction, drove the artist in the recording of the mix. It’s possibly the duel between these controversial strong emotions that makes this mix so beautifully heterogeneous, with melancholic notes alternating with gleeful and dreamy moments. The set consists mostly of Maguera’s own productions played live, which the artist blended masterfully with others’ tracks, and it’s meant to stimulate our capability to travel through our thoughts and feelings about empathy. Despite his elusiveness and humbleness, Maguera has made great display of the communicative power of his sound and of his moral depth. We at UCR are delighted to share his set with our listeners and welcome his call to self-reflection.
