Amniote Editions resurfaces with the HbA capsule, a dual release pairing the debut album from Hasvat Informant and his Intellagama moniker with a 21-track digital compilation, that coils through ambient, IDM, experimental, techno, trance and beyond.

Refraction of Light Vol. II gathers 21 artists linked by place yet divergent in expression, charting a fluid passage of moods, drifting from first light to nightfall.

The compilation’s framing draws from its title: like light refracting on the horizon of a long drive, it bends shifting sounds and perspectives into a shared vision shaped by distance, connection, and the landscapes in between.

In the same way, Amniote Editions’ capsules provide fertile ground for music to evolve — nurturing divergent practices, experimental forms, and cross-genre encounters. Refraction of Light Vol. II extends this lineage, binding artists through place and possibility, and echoing so-called Australia’s role as a cradle of creative life within its worldwide snakeweb.

10% of profits from this compilation will be donated to Palestine Australia Relief and Action (PARA) [para.org.au]. PARA help Palestinian migrants and refugees live safe, happy, and fulfilling lives in Australia.

Conceived on the land of the Gadigal peoples of the Eora Nation, the project acknowledges the traditional custodians of this country, paying respect to elders past and present, and recognising that sovereignty was never ceded.

Hasvat Informant’s debut album, Pluripotent XII, is a 12-track journey that reads between the lines of psychedelic electronics and contemporary techno. From driving, precise grooves to slow, textured explorations, the album carries the organic resonance of Australian underground culture while threading sharp influences from Detroit and beyond into a singular, unmistakably distinctive sound.

On this dual release, Naarm-based artist alternates between his Hasvat and Intellegama personas, moving between them like a figure navigating parallel realities. Greek born @saumbr is now based in the Netherlands, moving through the haze where rhythm, texture, and sound constantly drift together between restraint and release. His work takes shape in dense yet fluid motion — layers that shift, dissolve, and reappear with a quiet, hidden energy. Rooted in evolving structures and intricate percussive currents, his sound design moves through depths and tension, from submerged atmospheres to surging momentum. It lingers like a half-remembered dream, resonating long after the final vibration fades. His latest track, “Deep Stone”, released on Somnia Records’ VA Velithia, reflects another moment within this ongoing exploration.

KØLT co-founder AYIM opens the V/A with a cerebral touch on ‘Tier’, built by  a sparse soundscape and layered with a tenebrous lead and gauzy grooves. It’s followed by So_N, who begins ‘NB’ on a beatless note before descending into siren-shaped frequencies and resonant basslines.

On ‘Kråkesølv’, Oslo-based artist vilde wahl evokes a bleep-ridden world led by a loopy  melody, flecked with mechanical whirrs. Simrana sprinkles staccato beats between churning rhythms and metallic riffs on ‘RealmRide’, forming a shadowy and quick-paced number. 

anti-alias founder Emma Rak melds throbbing melodies with oil-slicked drums and dubby atmospheres on ‘Kali Tragus’, produced with razor-sharp precision. xia closes the compilation on ‘Heart glitch’, stitching woody percussion between bird-like FX, culminating in a push-pull effect. It’s the kind of track that stays with you long after listening—much like the V/A itself, which embodies the label’s evolving ethos and emotional range.
