British producer wAFF has been making waves in recent years, reflecting on a diligent 2015 spent playing across the likes of Europe, Africa, Asia and the States, when not making routine appearances at Paradise, Ibiza. As a producer he’s dropped several lauded releases on Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations imprint, not to mention Matthias Tanzmann’s Moon Harbour and Sven Väth’s Cocoon, with his next outing landing on renowned Swedish label Drumcode run by techno titan Adam Beyer.

Laying down hard hitting kicks from the off, ‘Holographic’ churns out an undulating synth combined with shuffling hats and a cavernous low-end, before ‘VibrationZ’ employs a low-slung groove fashioned from a sultry bassline, floating chords and sinister vocal. Tying it together, ‘Syncronistic’ is on a more heads down tip with whirring atmospherics, crunchy snares and subtle 303 squelches for a lengthy and mesmerising piece of production.

Stereo Productions is an independent House label and a pioneer brand founded at the end of the nineties in Madrid, whose influence has been notorious in the Music Industry in the last 15 years that is known for its quality and its characteristic and recognizable style known as the Iberican Sound. Chus & Ceballos, Iberican Sound founders and ambassadors, specialists in fusing sounds and rhythmic bases full of percussion and organic elements introduce us to their new studio project with the DJ and producer, also from Madrid, Óscar L, an outstanding figure from the national scene thanks to his excellent projects full of energy, groove and fresh rhythms. Londoners Leftwing : Kody made their first impression on Truesoul back in 2016, with the excellent four-tracker ‘Telepathy’. Since this time, they’ve dropped strong releases on Moon Harbour Recordings, Green Velvet’s Relief Records and Desolat, all the while developing their sound to explore the breadth of house and techno’s broad terrain.

‘In The Moment’ EP is the embodiment of this development. The title track kicks off the EP and conjures up atmosphere in spades with its stripped back techno approach, tribal grooves and wonky synth line, while a bongo hook line maintains the energy throughout. ‘You Know’ is an attitude-packed beast, led by ghetto vocals and sleek groovy basslines, with the duo’s masterful drum work ensuring the track pops. No surprise it was championed by Loco Dice throughout the summer. ‘Stutter’ lays it down, pure and simple; a mash of stuttered stabs and squelching techno beats, it manages to occupy an otherworldly atmosphere courtesy of some intergalactic synth effects, giving the track its memorable edge.
