Markantonio’s label AnalyticTrail welcomes an imprint debut from BEC who after making a name for herself on Pan-Pot’s Second State has also releases on Carl Cox’s Intec amongst others of a high calibre.

BEC is one of techno’s leading ladies quickly rising through the ranks of the genre, and with this EP she becomes a part of AnalyticTrail’s roster of artists which already includes the likes of Joseph Capriati, Flug, Matt Sassari and Luigi Madonna.

Originally from the UK but currently based in Berlin, she is also a popular DJ still relatively early in her career and has already played in many parts of the world as far flung as Australia.

Each of the four tracks brings something different to the EP with the title cut having morphing acid and a captivating vocal sample that gives it its title. Still dark and pounding “Eclipse” is a trippy take on a similar set of sounds with the addition of a grinding bassline, and “One Chance” closes things with its melodic synth stabs layered with industrial percussion.

Voltage Festival is releasing a compilation of 4 EP's to celebrate five years of existence. The EP's are dedicated to four sub-genres of techno and represent the versatility in techno of Voltage Festival's line-up.

The series starts off with a classic techno EP called ‘Zener Diode’, followed by a deep techno one called ‘Wiring Harness’, an industrial release with the name ‘Circuit Breaker’ and closing with acid techno called ‘Resistor’. Helmed by SHDW & Obscure Shape, From Another Mind has maintained its reputation as one of techno’s most exciting platforms since its launch in 2014. When not releasing on their own high quality label the duo continues to release music via respected imprints like Dynamic Reflection and Rekids. They’re also in demand remixers having been invited by Phantasy to remix Daniel Avery ‘Projector’ and Boysnoize to remix Djedjotronic ‘Take Me Down’, not to mention Rekids for separate renditions of two legendary Radio Slave tracks, ‘Vision’ and ‘Grindhouse’. Together they share a paralleled vision for techno without setting any boundaries which is suitably reflected in all their releases and performances. 

‘Die Zunge Des Todes’ kicks off with vast synth waves fluttering over the emphatic kicks and tense modulations giving off an energetic yet captivating atmosphere to begin. ‘Bisswunden’ tastefully delivers driving percussion, otherworldly oscillations and energetic melodies transcending the emotions into a hypnotic state before progressing into ‘Blick Des Bösen’ through clattering drum grooves pacing around haunting atmospheres. ‘Kein Entkommen’ finishes things off with a breakstinged beat, mystical tones and alleviating sound design.

Klangkuenstler first made his debut on our SUM 5 VA with his massive track ‘Continuum’ and now returns for his first solo outing on Second State with two absolute bombs primed for decimating any dance floor they encounter. 

‘Razor’ kicks off the EP in a concept where fierce, rapid drums and 90’s inspired leads result in a nostalgic yet modern twist to a timeless idea. The title track ‘Dunkle Illusion’ initiates the B-side by utilizing an ominous acid line with sinister intent slithers between racing percussion creating an undeniably wicked atmosphere. Wrapping up the short player is Alignment’s remix of ‘Dunkle Illusion’ which sees the original reworked into a powerful display of devilish melodics while never losing the intensity and force of the original’s character. This EP perfectly blends Techno with Rave sounds, and there is no better way to welcome Klangkuenstler to the Second State family.

Rekids boss Matt Edwards debuts on Rekids Special Projects under his prolific Radio Slave moniker with ‘Command Z’, marking the twentieth release on the offshoot series.

Undeniably one of house and techno’s most sought after and beloved producers and remixers, Matt Edwards kickstarted Special Projects as a techno focused series in 2017. Since then it has gone on to host incredible artists like FBK, Shinedoe, P.Leone, Hemka and Dustin Zahn, not to mention SRVD - Edwards’s collaborative project alongside club kid Patrick Mason. Three years later, the Berlin-based Brit finally graces the label under his most revered
pseudonym.

‘Command Z’ opens with roaming synth patterns, slick kicks, delicately placed plucks and a haunting soundfloor which gives a sense of allure alongside it’s thundering rhythm. On the flip, ‘Command X’ situates itself perfectly for cavernous warehouse spaces or intimate club environments with its rattling snares, arpeggiated keys, lively saturated claps, rawly reversed pads and rippling cymbals.
