Enrico Sangiuliano came up through illegal raves and is now a top DJ who plays all over the world and has his music played by the likes of Adam Beyer and Sven Vath. He has had the longest ever running techno number one on Beatport (his remix of ‘Can You Hear Me’ for DJ Boris on Alleanza) and is one of the best selling artists on the site at any one time. His music comes on Cocoon and Drumcode amongst others, and is powerful, direct stuff for the dance floor.

Written entirely in Italy, “X-Pollination (or cross-pollination) is fundamentally the key factor of growth, consciousness and life,” says the artist. “It’s the way I connect with people, share my passion, fly from one place to another and put many influences and elements into my music.”

The title track is eight minutes of slow burning but hypnotic techno funk with rolling rubber drums and nervy pads. Frazzled synths add post apocalyptic vibes to this main room anthem and many well crafted peaks and troughs along the way help make it even more standout. It is a real techno classic in the making.

Mark Reeve is the UK star who remixes. He has a long history with techno that goes back to the rave scene. Since then his education has taken in trips to techno mecca The Omen, has resulted in music on Cocoon and collabs with Pig & Dan. He has also released on Drumcode and has a big rolling sound that fills the world’s finest clubs and warehouses with his unique grooves. His take on the original is more energetic, with searing synths, cantering kicks and a dark energy that makes you pump your fist and stomp the floor. It is full of drama and is perfect balanced from start to finish.

Kevin De Vries delivers big room drama on his ‘Aratak’ EP for Afterlife Recordings. 

Spirited synth lines, drum rolls, gripping moments of silence and weighty kick drums make the title track of De Vries’ Afterlife debut formidable club gear. ‘Sciamachy’ is more subtle, centred around a euphoric arpeggio which spirals to its apex. Konstantin Sibold contributes a fine remix, toning down certain elements of ‘Sciamachy’ to let others shine. It completes an EP that brims with energy and dancefloor dynamism, a hugely exciting first full record for De Vries on Afterlife.

Omis (Italy) recently dropped a track on one of AnalyticTrails mixed artist LPs, but this time he is back with three original tracks, and a solo EP of his own.

Royal Techno opens the release with a hypnotic blend of looped vocals and hard-hitting percussion that pays homage to the in your face '90s style.

Lifting the intensity even further, Acid Dream has punishing rhythms fulled by a frantic acid-line.

Last on the EP is For The Beat which has a stripped back dystopian style that's got mechanical rhythms and a pounding low end.

Portal Atemporal serve up a sizzling split EP for their next top trickle. This one features another Hypnum release, collaborating with Fabrik resident Parsa Jafari.  The Hypnum pair are mainstays and founders of the Portal Atemporal imprint who launched their career in 2019, releasing their debut album ‘2099’. Since then they have attracted the attention of some of the most established techno artists with their second release on Portal Atemporal, ‘December 3000’, being played at festivals such as Awakenings (Exhale), Movement Torino Music Festival, Time Warp New York, Time Warp Brazil, and more. The duo open up here with 'Love Future', a slamming techno track with hard hitting, marching kicks and twisted acid lines. It's pure dance floor dynamite. The second cut from the duo is 'Post Human Relativity', another gabba tinged track with wild synthesis screwing about over square wave bass and dark vocal sounds.

They then link up with Parsa for 'FutureModel', a wall rattling affair with monstrous kicks and incendiary hi hats. Intensity grows with the laser like synths and big chords and ensure maximum destruction. Lastly comes the excellent 'Spaceship,' a track with an edgy urban feel, spooky breakdowns and icy metallic drums all taking you deep into another techno dimension.

‘Love Future’ drops via Portal Atemporal on 29th June 2020.
