One of the founding figures of Amsterdam's underground Techno culture Dimi Angelis has been shaping the scene in the late 90s, throwing warehouse raves living up to the underground standards. Until today his approach remains unchanged: uncompromising, opinionated, and never aimed at easy pleasing.
Drawing from decades of crate-digging and an encyclopedic knowledge of Techno's evolution, Dimi crafts sets that feel familiar a reveal unexpected depths on closer listening.

“ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” - Ukraine’s largest full-cycle metallurgical enterprise. This time filming took place in a truly unique and hauntingly breathtaking location -  the iron ore pit mine Quarry #3 of “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih”. The company is part of the international corporation ArcelorMittal - the world’s leading producer of steel - from iron ore mining to steel production. The birth of steel begins in the open-pit mine where iron ore is mined with an iron content of up to 32%. Afterward, it is enriched in ore beneficiation plants, and iron ore concentrate gets extracted leaving it with an iron content of more than 65%. Then cast iron is smelted from semi-finished products and other raw materials in blast furnaces, which becomes the basis for the production of steel - the most common material in the world. 

“ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” annually produces more than 6 million tons of steel, more than 5 million tons of rolled products, and more than 5 and a half million tons of cast iron.
The iron ore reserves in the company's two quarries will last for several decades. The #3 iron quarry supplies more than 14 million tons of iron ore per year.
The total area of the mining and processing production in ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih is 4084.9 hectares of which the quarries take up 648 hectares, while the external waste dumps are 1119 hectares, the tailings - 863 hectares, and the industrial site - 822 hectares of land. 
ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih is the leading exporter of iron in Ukraine. 85% of finished products are transported abroad. Ukrainian steel is becoming the basis of structures in 65 countries around the world, in all climatic zones of Earth.

#BSKD is a Ukrainian DJ and electronic music producer who uses a personal narrative as a means of producing music. #BSKD first joined forces with Nastia during her major NECHTO showcase in September of 2020 and the two later played b2b during Nastia’s residency at Beatport on Twitch. The artist has also successfully released a four-track EP on NECHTO. The artist delivers an enigmatic and meaningful sound that entrances the audience.

The Tunisian electronic music producer Ben Khlifa has joined Nastia’s rapidly growing record label NECHTO and is releasing a 4 track EP. 

Tracks from the EP were first played by Nastia in her audiovisual project Scary Beautiful. The intense, and at times obscure tracks consist of overwhelming and speedy energy, which perfectly fit the dynamic and hauntingly mesmerizing mood of the project, the label, and the atmospheric world Ben Khlifa converts into the audio form. 

Having started DJing at a very young age, the artist experimented with various genres, eventually realizng that he is most drawn to the raw energy of techno and was early inspired by Berlin and Detroit techno. The producer sees no limits in what one can achieve in the realm of music - music drives itself once it receives an external force.

NECHTO returns with its second 12” vinyl compilation, continuing the mission of presenting 
forward-thinking techno from both rising talents and trusted names. Each of the six tracks 
adds a unique voice to the raw and honest collection.  

Mecha opens the record with “All My Love”, a hypnotic debut techno track shaped by years 
in drum and bass. Contakt follows with “Peak Jam”, a one-take hardware jam built around 
the warmth of a signature synth. “16th Symphony” by Human Safari is a jazz-influenced cut 
intended for special moments in a DJ set. Unspent delivers “Moog Gorning”, a track that 
shifts from percussive 4x4 to broken rhythm, carrying deep personal emotion. ARGIE’s 
“Strangers” captures the tension of connection and distance with layered percussion and 
melody. Franz Jäger closes with “Get Simon to sync”, a rave-influenced hybrid track 
designed for peak-time impact.

PREMIERE: Dimi Angelis - Metavoid [NECH034]

For the second episode of Scary Beautiful - the audiovisual project created by DJ Nastia in collaboration with Ballantine’s, the DJ along her team visited the haunting area of Chernobyl in Ukraine - specifically the Chernobyl-2 facility, where the over-the-horizon radar station 'Duga' is located and where she played a DJ set. 

The Soviet over-the-horizon radar station "Duga" located at the Chernobyl-2 which is not far from Pryp’yat facility is one of three comparable stations that survived to this day. The obvious reason for the aforementioned was the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant - the destruction of the reactor of the fourth power unit of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, located near the city of Pripyat, Ukraine. Until the mid-1980s, any information regarding the topic was classified which led to many speculations about the mysterious object. In terms of its impressive magnitude, the antennas of ‘Duga’ are 140m high and 300m wide. A rocket launched from the US reached the territory of Ukraine in just 20 minutes, so radars stationed at the border could detect the missile just five minutes before impact. Accordingly, an early warning system was required that was capable of detecting a rocket three to four minutes after launch. Undoubtedly, Chernobyl is a place that to this day stirs the hearts and minds of mankind.

As part of the Scary Beautiful project and following Ballantine's with its notion of 'True Music' , Nastia has been pre-selecting unreleased tracks by producers from all over the globe, some of which you can hear in the episode’s DJ mix - later, some of these tracks will become a part of an LP that is going to be released via Nastia’s label NECHTO. 

As the world has to adapt to a new pandemic reality, Nastia DJ is looking for new ways of supporting the global music community and club music through exposing fresh and upcoming talents. Scary Beautiful is aimed to not only support new artists, but also holds an objective of discovering our world anew and seeing it from a perspective that is so frightfully enchanting.

Scary Beautiful by Nastia - Chernobyl-2 DUGA Radar

The final episode of DJ Nastia’s music journey alongside Ballantine’s for Scary Beautiful delivers us to the industrial realm of ‘ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih’. The origin of the renowned steel factory dates back to 1934 when the first pig iron was produced. Today it is the largest enterprise in the mining and metallurgical industries - the colossal scale of the enterprise and its capabilities of a full metallurgical cycle make it unprecedented. The enterprise comprises such production facilities as mining and processing, producing coke, steelmaking, etc. with the main focus of the company being the production of rebar and wire rod.  
85% of the manufactured products from Ukraine are exported to new construction sites in 65 countries and the plant annually produces 6, 000, 000 tons of steel. Constructions like the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the NSC Olympic Stadium in Kyiv, and even the protective sarcophagus over the 4th power unit in Chernobyl's nuclear power plant have all used materials produced at ArcelorMittal.  
Not only has ArcelorMittal been the largest foreign investor in Ukraine for the past 15 years, but the company also strives to transform all enterprises of the corporation to produce green and environmentally friendly steel. As an example, since 2006 air emissions have reduced by 42%, wastewater discharge decreased by 78%, and waste dumping by 23%.

Scary Beautiful consisted of five DJ sets in which Nastia played pre-selected unreleased tracks by electronic music producers from all over the world that are now released as a compilation of five LPs via Nastia’s record label  ‘NECHTO’. 
The last instalment took place on the territory of one of Ukraine’s most monumental steel factories - ‘ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih’, which dates back to 1934 when the first pig iron was produced. 85% of the manufactured products from Ukraine are exported to new construction sites in 65 countries and the plant annually produces 6, 000, 000 tons of steel. The final release of Scary Beautiful’s first season illuminates the industrial and raw energy of techno and consists of music tracks by producers from Japan, Ukraine, Hungary, Belgium, Brazil, Greece, and Scotland.
