For this week’s radio show, we are happy to present to you a two-hour hypnotic minimal techno set by a long time Bahrain DJ and producer, @Salah. The sounds in this magical two-hour mix are set to remain with you for weeks and months. 

Salah is the founder of Andcollective, @Techfui, and @The-Crate

He has played alongside some renowned artists like #LaurentGarnier, #JoshWink, and #SvenVäth. He has also been featured on guest mixes for #RTSFM, #ElectronicGroove, #MorningLine, #TheDeepRoom, #FriskyRadio, #SceneNoise, #DeepHouseToronto, #Revolver, #TechTrip, and #Warped.

Born and raised in Bahrain, he developed his skills from the very young age of 14, performing at the infamous “Tameem” night club, varied underground gigs, which led to him becoming the weekend resident DJ at “Likwid” Bahrain from 1999. Gradually, he took over running his nights at the club, on the island, and in the region, building a reputation that resonated with his Dutch audience in Amsterdam, where he began to make his mark on the international circuit.

His adventures have seen him play in Berlin, Amsterdam, Toronto, and Tbilisi. He’s been behind the decks across Europe and the Middle East and toured India. Aside from repeat returns to Amsterdam Dance Event, he’s played at Pacha Festival Amsterdam, Silver Network Anniversary @ Showcase Paris, and Sven Väth’s 2015 Tour in Beirut, as well as at a few intimate gigs at the iconic Studio 80 Amsterdam, The Woods Brussels, and Lisi Woods Tbilisi.

It is from within his passionate soul that he reaches out, with a style of music that spans deep - house - groovy - electronica - techno - acid - disco - dub - abstract beats and pieces that get under your skin; a truly experienced versatile style that never fails to infect the listener with a dirty groove.

You must have heard him play groovy deep-house and tech-house at The Meat Co in Bahrain where he serves as a resident DJ. His past residences include La Vinoteca Barcelona, SkyBar, and the old favorite of many, Cocoon lounge.

He has shared the deck with some leading artists like Alex Miles, Damian D’Costa, Felipe Valenzuela, Fosky, Gordon Matthewman, Greg Stainer, Henrik Schwarz, Matt Tolfrey, Matthew Charles, Nakadia, Natalie Brogan, Ohm Hourani, Paul Darey, Sam Divine, Simon Baker, Smokingroove, Tone Depth, to name a few.

Max Mira bio

A Montreal transplant since 2011, Max has wasted no time in embedding himself in the vibrant underground music scene of his adopted home. He has been tantalizing dance floors as Max Mira since 2016, and launched his latest project, Ossifer, three years later as an outlet for his darker and more experimental creations. With his alchemical blends and unexpected selections, Max’s DJ sets offer a much-needed escapism from the tired routine of business-as-usual dance music. 

Now a well-known face in Montreal's event circuit, he has opened and closed numerous influential names such as Magda, Developer, SPFDJ, Nur Jaber, and Anthony Naples. He also organizes regular afterhours gatherings in DIY spaces around the city via his Inner Circle and vol. x series, collaborating with many of the most innovative crews and artists on offer. Having recently joined techno label North Of Nowhere Records as co-manager, Max hasn’t missed any opportunities to support and advance electronic music culture in both his local community and beyond.

Cie and Mar io, the artists of the first two releases on Form & Terra Records, have known each other for over twenty years, but the previous musical collaboration has been limited to mutual remixes. While jamming together, the idea developed to work on new tracks together. The nights in the studio were long, the sequencers and synthesizers were running hot and "Heartland" as the first joint EP of the two artists was gradually formed.
“Heartland” is down-to-earth, dust-dry but irresistibly groovy and the original mix transfers the heat of the night to the dance floor with a lot of power and fire.
After these fireworks the dance floor can also jump straight into the “Starland Mix”: wonderful synthesizer sounds take you into the deep, glittering spheres of the sky without having to think about the way back.
There the immensely driving groove of "Cursed Toms" is already waiting to bring everyone back to the ground. The track grabs like a suction and immediately draws everyone deeper and deeper into the dance.
Then Zweig shows “Heartland” from a bird's eye view with his remix and sets wonderful melodic accents in his happy, light flight, which conveys the feeling of freedom with its fine melodies.
The darker side of "Heartland", on the other hand, is hypnotic and driving: M. Sylvia's "Chicago Remix" is a first-class sound storm and leads deeper and deeper into the hidden corners of a dark club. M. Sylvia thus provides a strong exclamation mark at the end of this EP!
