A 4-hour drift through layered atmospheres and leftfield experimentation, this extended opening set by Pianeti Sintetici marked the beginning of DE RIO’s 6th anniversary celebration, a 14-hour open-air gathering held in a hidden location among the hills of Florence. Known for his deeply textured sonic explorations and immersive works, Pianeti Sintetici invited early listeners into a slow-burning journey. Moving from fragile drones and spatial electronics to abstract rhythms and weightless transitions, the set established a space of introspection, friction, and quiet intensity.

Hydrangea is a French producer creating techno deeply inspired by nature and her surroundings. She began making music in early 2014, drawing her main influences from deep and hypnotic Italian techno.

Since her beginnings, Hydrangea has managed to make her sonic universe resonate far beyond the French borders, performing all around the world. She has played in iconic venues and at renowned events such as Fuse in Brussels alongside Jeff Mills and Ness, La Nature Festival 2024 in Belgium, Outrebleu in Paris, as well as About Blank and Tresor in Berlin.

Her journey has taken her to New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Kyiv, Prague, Budapest, Beijing, Leeds, and even to Australia, with performances in Sydney and Melbourne, to name just a few.

Ben Kaczor's singular sound bridges a wide emotional spectrum, blending influences of techno, deep house and dub techno into a minimal, straightforward and vulnerable aesthetic. His music balances dubby, monochrome atmospheres and melancholia, producing deep self-connection in different environments. The swiss DJ, producer and curator joined Dial Records in 2023 and co-founded St. Odes, a label dedicated to deep house, dub techno and multidisciplinary art. Across all his projects, Kaczor consistently returns to his core pursuit: creating something that's meant to be felt, not deconstructed.

The haze of Paral·lel festival has barely lifted, but we’re rewinding to another moment worth lingering on, February in Granada, at the Moonback club. There, under the warm glow of the Extramostra banner, Mostra linked up with the Klub Collective for a night that balanced local soul with an international touch. The lineup reads like a heads-only dream: Timnah, Antonio Vázquez, Refracted, and a solid core of Klub Collective residents including Fran Acosta, Kaizen, and Utopian. The kind of night that reminded us why the first slot matters more than most people admit. It’s the architectural role: shaping the night’s flow from zero.

Utopian did just that. His set unfolds like a slow exhale, dub-laced ambient that creeps, swells, and gradually transforms into chugging, low-slung techno hypnosis. It’s a patient climb: syncopated, restrained, precise. Not a single cheap move, just deep focus and floor logic, the kind that sets the table without stealing the meal. But make no mistake, this was a statement. A warm-up that didn’t just support the night, but elevated it.

Delayed with... Utopian

Closing sets come with built-in pressure. But at this year’s Perpendicular Festival, Saturday wrapped up not with spectacle, but with style. Valencia-based DJ and producer Facundo, a standout discovery from the city’s ever-surprising scene, took control of the final stretch with a set that was patient, fluid, and full of character. It moved with intent, keeping the energy alive without ever pushing too hard. The kind of set that made you forget the time, anchored in rhythm and shaped by subtle shifts. A groove that spoke softly but hit deep.

Facundo’s approach to the closing slot was a slow reveal. He opened with broken, syncopated patterns before sliding seamlessly into a tight four-to-the-floor pulse. The tension built with restraint - dark, shadowy techno moments came and went, but the release was never forced. This was a set that traded hype for nuance, showmanship for control. Polyrhythmic elegance in the woods.

ena b. is a Lisbon-based producer, DJ, and vocalist blending deep ambient techno with ethereal vocals. Starting as a folk and indie singer-songwriter, she transitioned into electronic music with her indie-electronica album Ketamine Vacation and the single “Headspace,” which gained notable radio play in Spain and Portugal. Her evolution continued with Cycles on Spanish label Be Your Own Studio—a concept album exploring inner growth and the seasons through a fusion of electronica, techno, and trip hop, all tied together by her distinctive vocals.

Private Grief releases his first debut album " Deadline " on the French label based on Royan Tustance, with tracks apparently not similar but communicating, although the artist has been influenced by various musical styles.

It is important to say that we talk about tracks of genuine meaning, belonging to every single period, day, moment and mood in which the artist thought and developed them, so nothing more true and real than that is his soul.

Israel is only the executioner, every nation which has armed that country in the past year is an accessory to that genocide, an accomplice, a facilitator.  We cannot talk about war crimes because when you target unarmed civilians, mostly women and children, we are talking about a massacre, like terrorists do, not a war. The people who orchestrated that massacre, in the US, the most duplicitous, followed by those of the UK, Germany, France, and probably a few lesser ones should be tried for crimes against humanity just as well as Netanyahu and his cabinet, because it has been going on for two years, generously reported by media of all kinds, so the enablers knew exactly how the arms were to be used, as a tool for revenge, domination, and humiliation of the Palestinian people.  The conflict has ceased to be about the defense of anything for months.

The parties responsible have made a mockery of decency, morals, fairness, proportion, or justice, not to mention empathy.  Of what little there was, these concepts will be a lot longer to come back than they were to be struck down.

Same phone number, same email addresses, and they still claim that they can't verify my identity.  I created that account about three years ago as a substitute to my regular account which SoundCloud temporarily closed.  They closed it as part of some upgrade procedure in their system, the result of a bug that affected many accounts, about two years ago.  Since SC did not inform its users I didn't know if that was permanent or not, so I created that other account which I can't access.
