Dublin DJ and producer Josh Coakley has been earning his stripes performing at clubs and festivals up and down the country, supporting everyone from Patrick Topping, Solardo and Fisher, to Michael Bibi, Route 94, Eats Everything and Alan Fitzpatrick, plus performing international shows in Holland, Gibraltar, Greece, Spain & Ibiza to name a few.

Today, however, we focus on the production element of Josh Coakley's game, as we premiere his remix of Niceteed - Nothing But Pain, which is available to pre-order today. Having already released on labels such as HOUZ, Swerve Digital, Pacha Recordings, Luxor Music, Recklas Records, Sony Music, Universal Music, Warner Music and Sleazy Deep to name a few, today Josh can add Chapeau Music to the list.

Chapeau Music is a label and event company based in Italy and the Netherlands, running parties and releasing house and techno music since 2011. During these years, they have been releasing music from both rising talents and well-known artists alike. 

Josh remixes the track 'Nothing But Pain', by Italian artist, Niceteed, which is from Niceteed's forthcoming 4 track EP, due out on June 25th. Primarily Josh is known for his tech-house style, but with this track he gets the opportunity to flex his production techniques, giving the already rawness of the original track a club-thumping makeover, primed and ready for the return of nightclubs and dance music events.

"Beautiful But Evil" is a perfect floor filler for late night DJ sets and "Dark Places" was produced for the after hours special.

"Inspiration for "Beautiful But Evil" came from a deep place of romance and love for Self Love. Self love can feel like an addiction at times. "Dark Places" was inspired by my love for the dark supernatural energies that lurk around us.

On 16th March 2018 Germany’s esteemed DJ/producer Frank Sonic teams up with long time studio partner L-EX to deliver their debut Atlanta EP for Tube & Berger and Juliet Sikora’s illustrious Kittball Records. 

This essential two track EP follows Sonic’s previous outings on labels such as Beat Boutique, Sprout and Traum plus marks Kittball’s third EP release of the year so far, following offerings by Rob Kali and The Deepshakerz. 

The EP’s title track ‘Atlanta’ kicks things off, serving up a tight four-to-the-floor house groove, uplifting percussive and synthetic melodies, powerful bass frequencies and an abundance of intense snare rolls to great effect. The track is already proving to be a hit amongst tastemaker DJs around the world including the likes of Solomun - expect to hear this on a dancefloor near you within the spring / summer months.

Next up, the Düsseldorf-based artist provides a solo effort in the form of ‘Ozora’, which encompasses a solid house beat, mesmerising trance-esque melodic textures, lush pad sounds and distinctive horn blasts and to conclude the EP in style.   

Frank Sonic & L-EX Atlanta EP is available exclusively via Beatport on 16th March and everywhere else two weeks later.

Voltage Festival is releasing a compilation of 4 EP's to celebrate five years of existence. The EP's are dedicated to four sub-genres of techno and represent the versatility in techno of Voltage Festival's line-up.

The series starts off with a classic techno EP called ‘Zener Diode’, followed by a deep techno one called ‘Wiring Harness’, an industrial release with the name ‘Circuit Breaker’ and closing with acid techno called ‘Resistor’. The artists featured on the releases already made their appearance at Voltage Festival, or are playing on this year’s edition.
