It is with pride that MAISON CLOSE RECORDS announces the release of this first EP Unseen [MCR001] with UNREALNUMBERS, marking the beginning of a long series of EPs with only one artist.
UNREALNUMBERS is a rising south korean talent based in Seoul. It was in London, the city where he grew up, that he met the underground techno scene. His industrial music production, EBM and
noise stood out early during his schooling. In 2014, he started to draw inspiration from his various trips between London and Berlin to assert his sound design. The producer also manages his own label «UNLABEL CORP», aiming for raw power on the dance floor as well as a dark and dystopian aesthetic. To accompany UNREALNUMBERS productions, two artists are also present on this release as remixers:
Varya Karpova; the new russian talent of the young agency Core Agency revealed on the Possession label in 2020 and Lacchesi; co-founder of the Maison Close Records label. [MCR001] is the promise of an obscure techno with influences from Berlin, London and Seoul.

Kriptika Records have been making strides in the electronic music world. The first few releases from Rezystor, Stigmatique, Sligo, Julian Muller, Echoes of October, DJ IBON, MSKD, Amstra, GEERSON, Grace Dahl and label bosses HERMETE and DCMBR picked up support from genre heavyweights such as Amelie Lens, Marcel Fengler, Anetha and Regal and continue to keep fans engaged. Their second VA release continues down the path of releasing first-class hard techno with trance elements, industrial and high-energy, warehouse anthems.

First up is the polish techno queen L Ʌ V Σ N with "Aries Angel" an emotional rave-inspired techno anthem, right before Don Woezik, who delivered a heavy "four-to-the-floor" drummy vocal track. It's Fenrick's turn with his "Rythm meaning" filled up with fast-paced drums and melancholic arps, up next Monnom Black affiliate Aahan offering dynamic grooves and emphatic rhythms inside his "Charmer".
Ending with label bosses DCMBR and HERMETE, their tracks "Signals" and " Fake news, Fake people" are full of acid basslines, churning synths and mammoth pads.

Four nostalgically extensive, original mixes, capturing a moment from the perspective of both an artist and a wholly committed music fan - No Reason To Be Disturbed showcases the very best of producer David LaFhionntain’s work in the intense and euphoric techno realm.

As an introduction, the title-track, 'No Reason To Be Disturbed', builds up with presence, power and pace – rising from the bare essentials towards the distorted synth appeal of a heavy and hypnotic drop. Weave in a select few vocal fragments and details to further this evolution, and the completed post-six-minute journey refuses to loosen its grip throughout.

‘Future Tears’ follows and there’s warmth and bass-thick reverberation intertwined with echoes of distant melody – a sudden grip of intention, as opposed to the more subtle incline from minimalism to vastness that was the opener. Here we venture into a highly emotional, even haunting arena of energy and sound – a rising and falling, wave-like wash of melancholy and uncertainty. This back and forth continues to hold the listener tightly, the disconcerting layers ultimately multiplying, yet always with the consistency of those recognisable threads of identity.

Softening the blow somewhat is the unmistakable historical context and relentless rhythm of ‘Ravey Days on Mondays’, complete with its briefly cut and compiled intricacies of nineties dance and voice and movement. There’s optimism here, euphoria and sheer joy as the memories and connections come pouring through.

‘H-Core’ brings things to an intriguing finish, maintaining the essential building blocks of tempo and production character, injecting new hits though – of voice, purpose, effect and growing anticipation. The progression is quite fascinating, all at once unpredictable and satisfying as it makes its way through a humble yet compelling five minutes. The echo chamber embraces then swallows the listener entirely, the peak of an implied nitrous hit as escapism intensifies and the rhythm limitlessly picks up.

Crafted out of passion and precision united, a love for the genre, the scene, and a clear ability to finely design and designate a piece of music to its sole purpose, the project makes for an out-of- body listen that works in and of itself as the late-night playlist the lifelong techno fan craves.

No Reason To Be Disturbed acts not only as a reminder of the focus, skill and dedication that David LaFhionntain brings to modern and timeless techno, but also as an introduction to some of his most compelling and memorable compositions yet.
