Berlin-based label BITE run by Phase Fatale has been turning heads ever since its inception five years ago. Now BITE has put out over 25 releases, platforming emerging talents and well-established artists alike, all united by an ambition to push the boundaries of techno.
BITE’s output touches upon a wide range of styles along the moodier fringes of electronic dance music: from sparse industrial techno to wave and synthpunk and to the label’s pioneering italo body music. While BITE’s roster remains musically diverse, the imprint has cultivated a community around itself of those attracted by its aesthetic of global malaise and pursuit of romantic sensibility within the cold mechanics of the techno  genre. In 5 years of its existence, and with showcases at Berlin’s Berghain, Tbilisi’s KHIDI, New York’s Basement, and various venues in Los Angeles, Tokyo, Seoul, and more places around the globe, BITE has gained global  recognition. In honor of its fifth anniversary, the imprint is proud to present Shedding Skin – an 18-track compilation of BITE protagonists such as Pablo Bozzi, Phase Fatale, Unhuman, Reka, Silent Servant, and New Frames, as well as new and exciting artists like Nastya Vogan, Mind | Matter, Omon Breaker, Gael and more.

With his deeply resonant appreciation for music, Victor Ruiz has established himself as a dynamic selector with the ability to craft compelling sets full of vigor and vibrancy. Born in Brazil and currently based in Europe, he has been a constant presence on the world stage since 2013 and is widely regarded for his mesmerizing DJ performances. His extensive travel diary includes visits to the USA, Argentina, France, Turkey, Denmark, Germany, Australia, Canada to name a few. This is an artist who encourages those special moments of self-expression, escapism and catharsis. 
In the studio he is equally adept, releasing a steady flow of first-rate techno productions all of which encapsulate his distinct flair for musicality and energy. Victor’s music has been signed to a number of high-profile labels including Drumcode, Noir Music, Suara, Senso Sounds and many more. He has also produced an exceptional collection of edits including The Prodigy’s ‘Breathe’ and Depeche Mode’s classic ‘Everything Counts’ among others. 
From his early love of heavy metal and the life-changing gift of a bass guitar when he was nine, to exhilarating dance floors all over the world and producing a formidable arsenal of techno weapons, Victor still appreciates the simple things in life, which is reflected in his unfussy approach to his craft. Driven by unwavering passion and a desire to inject positive energy into the lives of everyone who listens to his music, Victor Ruiz continues on his lifelong mission with a smile on his face, an open heart and an open mind, a testament to this is his brand-new record label VOLTA which supports up and coming artists as well as established ones to release on a respected label as well as help a charity of their choice by donating 10% of the revenue of the release.

The HAVEN white label series is back after a year’s break with the fifth instalment of the infamous Sardonic Tonality compilation series - this time with three newcomers to the imprint and one existing label artist visiting the series for the first time.

The A1 kicks off the record with Ōtautahi (Christchurch) local techno legend Keanu Raves - a regular DJ at HAVEN events in their hometown. Booming kicks, rolling percussion, and emotive synth work come together in this perfect dance-floor killer that’s already been making the rounds at Aotearoa warehouse raves and outdoor parties. Following up is Valerie Ace on the A2 with a tripped-out slab of techno weight. Eerie synth textures, creeping vocal whispers and pounding drum rhythms combine in another delight for all club creatures from the promising German producer.

On the flip French production demon Draugr revisits the label again following on from his Nine Nights EP at the end of 2021. Menacing melodies, charging drum work and ominous atmospheres pour out of yet another industrial-tinged mammoth from the Parisian nightmare weaver. Ending the record is the label debut of Berlin-based Puerto Rican heavyweight Xiorro. Off-beat bass, hypnotic percussions, and grungy synth blasts close out the compilation with another certified club weapon.
