At last, the fifth side-scrolling Metroid game, Metroid Dread, has appeared.

In celebration of Nintendo remembering that Metroid exists and has a fanbase, here's a remix of one of my favorite tracks from a favorite childhood title of mine, Metroid II: Return of Samus for the Game Boy.  I would leave my Game Boy running on the main hub just to listen to this track over and over again.

I Saved The Beat

ProtonJon streamed the Masterpiece Edition of Myst, and while he didn't reach the Selenitic Age in that stream, I got the idea to craft a track using the musical solution for unlocking its linking book. ぽっぴっぽー (TechnoHornist Remix) - Instrumental

This is a remix of the final boss introduction cue by Daisuke Matsuoka and James Phillipsen as heard in the 2021 video game “Bowser’s Fury.” It was arranged to fit the duration of the “Revenge of the Farts” segment by JoliVector.

About the Album
Every year, The Runaway Guys host a charity stream marathon called The Runaway Guys Colosseum, featuring video games, art, music, skits, and general chaos. Donations from this marathon go to Direct Relief, a nonprofit humanitarian organization that provides emergency medical assistance in the United States of America and around the world.

About a year ago, I was invited to join The Runaway Guys Colosseum Animated Bunch (TRG CAB) to help out on a community project for the 2023 event. The goal was to create an animated bumper to use in between the event’s many segments that encompasses the spirit of The Runaway Guys and the many in-jokes spawned over the years. About 30 people in total from around the world collaborated on this massive project, including animators, illustrators, musicians, editors, and voice actors.

I created 3 songs for 3 of the animations used in the bumper and provided musical assistance when needed on other animations. In the end, this project was a massive success, and I’m very happy to have been a part of it!

This a bait-and-switch remix of Pascal Michael Stiefel’s song as heard in the 2017 video game “A Hat in Time.” Instead of the normal melody, an adapted version of the Backpacker Theme from Pokémon Black and White is used, known as the “Hiker Dance” in The Runaway Guys community. An except is featured in the “Peace and Hiker Dance” segment by PhoenixGirl1.

It's been a little over two years since the Japanese tactical web browser game Kantai Collection (KanColle) launched.  The game draws heavily from the events of the Second World War, with a focus on Imperial Japan and its extensive navy.

In this game, you assume the role of an Admiral and lead your armada of ship girls against a mysterious enemy known as the Abyssal Fleet.  This is a short remix of 「補給等選択時」 (Time to Resupply), which plays as the Admiral performs various tasks around the naval base in preparation for the next sortie or expedition.

In my continued quest to learn the art of DJ'ing, I found a decent DJ program that allowed me to use a virtual controller (instead of getting one of the physical ones) to see if I can get the hang of DJ'ing.  So far, it's loads of fun!

Thanks to the generosity of the Internet, one of the stretch goals of The Runaway Guys Colosseum Direct 2020 was achieved: a 5-hour bonus stream of Paper Mario: Sticker Star with ProtonJon and Chuggaaconroy.

Chuggaaconroy has made it clear how he feels about the game in various places, and the bonus stream showed exactly how he feels.  I put one of his memorable quotes from that stream to this track, a modified variation of Initialize.

Yes, I know it's another demo track, but everyone's got to start somewhere, right?

After wrestling with the Reason 6 Demo for a while, I've decided to give the FL Studio 11 Demo a go at music production to see if I like it better.

I first heard tofubeat's 朝が来るまで終わる事の無いダンスを when Meji used it to end his DJ sets (when it was late at night).  After adding the track (and some of its remixes) to my music library, I found it very easy to sing along to with each listening.

Using my ear and my initial experience with the FL Studio interface, I created this little track as an exercise to see what I've learned thus far.
