The festival season is fast approaching yet again, and one of the first (and biggest) events kicking off in the UK is We Are FSTVL. The festival is based in Upminster just on the outskirts of London and will be entering its third year in 2015. Just as we did last year, we've teamed up with the huge event to collaborate on a podcast series - the first of which comes from Desolat mainstay, Yaya.

We couldn't be more excited about this year's We Are FSTVL, which will continue their impressive approach to large-scale electronic music events with an almighty line-up including Carl Cox, Seth Troxler, Hannah Wants, Loco Dice, Masters At Work, MK, Ricardo Villalobos, Steve Aoki, Steve Angello, Jamie Jones, Sven Vath, DJ EZ and many many more. The line-up is out of this world and We Are FSTVL not only invest in top quality artists but also make sure that production is tip top, to make the whole festival experience unforgettable.

You'll be able to catch Yaya on the Used + Abused stage with Loco Dice, Adam Beyer, Art Department, Enzo Siragusa, Recondite (live) and Tale Of Us, one of many mondblowing stage line-ups at the festival. So Yaya drops us the first entry in our 2015 run of podcasts in association with We Are FSTVL and it's a killer as you might expect.

Matteo Spedicati was born in Cagliari in 1980. His passion for music started at a young age with the study of the guitar. He spent his teenage years together with friends jamming in the studio and in garage bands. In the upcoming years he began to experiment with sequencers which was when he realized that he not only could compose his own guitar riffs but also scores of other instrumental elements.

As soon as he attended european clubs, Matteo was especially excited for the minimalist style of the period that took over in the european electronic music scene. In 2006 he released his first single on Gumption Recordings of Darmstadt. From that moment on, he commenced his work on a series of brilliant releases supported by world renown DJs and producers such as Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola and many others.

He has worked with Joseph Capriati on CMYK, Alchemy and MIndshake,
Alessio Mereu on Toy for Boys, Mr. Bizz on Tuning Spork and Resopal and Mendo on Great Stuff.

Recently he’s releasing his music on labels such as Seth Troxler’s Play It
Say It, Davide Squillace’s This And That Lab and Jamie Jones’s Hot Creations

His ability to be a a great DJ and a great studio producer results in a musical line that can shake any dance floor while maintaining always a good level of class and sophistication.
