Technorama records is a brand new label from Paris based French DJ Jee & Ms Céline. They have been running the highly successful Technorama parties at the Rex-Club (Paris) & other notable clubs for the last seven years. The two founding members have a long history in the music industry where they have explored (and still are exploring) the various aspects of this scene, Jee is a noted DJ who has regularly chronicled articles for Trax and Tsugi magazine and for many years has been an important part of the Topplers distribution set up. Ms Celine, an accomplished DJ in her own right organizes and communicates for the Technorama events along with DJ Jee.

Technorama records is the logical next step on, as it captures the musical soul of their events, where they have collaborated with well known artists such as Derrick May, Kenny Larkin, Skudge, Kink or Deetron. Technorama events solidly promote a style of music which is half way between Detroit Techno, Chicago House and the Berlin Sound while still conserving a very Frenchy flavour. Ever faithfull to their passion Technorama’s well connected duo Dj Jee/Ms Céline & Technorama have selected a true electronic music heavyweight to kick off proceedings, the excellent Skat who is back after 3 years without any releases (and a special mention to the fact that all of his releases are completely sold out).

SKAT first made his musical education in the early 80's in Rouen by listening to his father during his radio show. Hidden behind the mixer, he discovered artists and musical styles which would soon have an enormous impression on him, and would naturally lead him on towards discovering house, hip house and hip-hop influences. He then constructed his first loop with a K7 recorder in the mid 80's... and after an eight year long practicing period, where he learnt to mix and scratch at hip-hop & techno gigs, he felt the need to affirm his own style by producing his own music. Enlightened by his numerous gigs and collaborations, his style is at the crossroads between a mental and organic house.

Here with this first project, Skat returns in dark mode with ‘Intolerence’, an anti-conflict song against human stupidity,the story of a jaded guy, closed off in his own self righteous world with a narrow outdated vision of those who surround him. The result is an atypical techno track,rhythmically enthralling ang persuasive at the same time,The ‘Dirty Alternative Mix’ is the contradicting version of the original, smartly conserving the infamous lyrics but transposing them onto a deep house background, even to the extent of making the mood that of a melancholic song. Equally present and signed to fully complete and enhance this project are two brilliant remixes from specialists Jonas Kopp & Norman Nodge who propose two excellently constructed dancefloor versions.

We are proud to present our new release by Detroit veterans Keith Tucker & Anthony ‘Blaktony’ Horton. 

One of underground music’s most enigmatic characters since the mid-80’s, Anthony 'Blaktony' Horton first appeared as a member of the house group ‘Sight Beyond Sight’ (Submerge / Soul City / 430 West records). Further exposure in Detroit’s underground presented him memberships within various groups and collectives (Optic Nerve / early Aux 88 / Aux Men / Alien FM / Scan7), recording on labels like Direct Beat, Elypsia, Puzzlebox, Trans Atlantic, Minimal Soul, Night Vision and numerous guest features. 

Known mostly for his vocals, writings and concepts, DEMF vet-Blaktony places his producers hat on to release on Technorama Records his new electro project alongside of Keith Tucker, part of the famous electro duo Aux88, who has recorded under several monikers such as Optic Nerve, K-1 or Alien FM since the very early nineties and who has built his own unique style of electro and techno music out of Detroit. 

You can find here two brilliant remixes of ‘The Rogue’, full of trademark Optic Nerve funk and futurism, combining deep techno with haunting vocals and machine rhythms. On this other side, ‘We Are Detroit’ by Keith Tucker keep the same vibe of classic Detroit techno stuff and Delta Funktionen delivers a fabulous remix that finds its place near the solid electro techno sound. 

We are very sure these tracks will devastate the dancefloors. Get re assimilated!

For this first edition, It is a great honor for us to welcome such a living legend, a pioneer from the Chicago House scene: Mr K Alexi Shelby ! At the age of 12 he was already moving in the right circles, befriending Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy whilst frequenting the famous Warehouse. His upbringing in Chicago in the 70s and 80s meant that he was exposed to a range of genres and different styles of music including Stevie Wonder, Prince, Curtis Mayfield and David Huff. These same names would prove to be the roots of his influences.

This projet includes two classic and timeless moments of Chicago house & techno music. On A side :  ‘K’ Alexi’s Vertigo’, a massive, rare and very demand acid track from K-Alexi. Released in 1989 on legendary Transmat records, already play by major players like Robert Hood, Derrick May, Dj Rolando, Mike Huckaby or Martyn.

On B Side :  ‘You Get Down’, previously released in 1997 on his Nepenta Lp ‘Brings You Absolute Power’, a new edit here called ‘U Get Down’. A real piece of Chicago Jackin’ House !.

For this third, It is a great honor for us to welcome such a living legend, a pioneer from Kalamazoo, Michigan (city right in the middle between Chicago and Detroit) : Jay Denham aka Fade II Black. His style is a unique blend of these two worlds - Chicago House and Detroit Techno, with a Kalamazoo touch. He stays true to the underground, makes the music for the art of it and always remembers where he comes from.

On A side : 'In Synch', a massive and very demand classic techno track from Jay Denham under pseudonym Fade II Black. Released in 1990 on Fragile records, Transmat's subdivision.

On B Side : 'Playground', previously released in 1999 on Disko B, issue from the great 'Synthesized Society' album. Our favorite secret weapons, a real masterpiece of Techno house sound.

After the funky summer release ‘Deep In’ by Stephen Brown, Technorama records continues to promote diversity & quality music. They are back this time in the ‘electro game’ with this superb release by the French specialist Dynarec. 

Sometimes you have artists that can electroshock you with a very good 12" and then after that they are not able to satisfy your expectations. Dynarec is one of those who is capable to impress each and every time that he delivers a release. Coming from France, Dynarec improves on even the most advanced experimental electro as no one did before, giving it depth, awareness and knowledge, making it more rigid and linear. A journey into those post Drexciya atmospheres which reach some of the highest moments in a new Electro history….. Romantic and complex, rich in detail and unlikely to be imitated or surpassed by others on the contemporary new electro scene.

This project includes four brilliant rare cuts and timeless moments of Ghetto tech sounds from Electrofunk’s catalogue.

After over ten years of work as a producer and nearly twenty years of making electronic music, Mr. De' has a sound drawn from a number of funk-based urban sounds, blending them together into a composite whole that emphasizes up-tempo booty shakin'over the chin-stroking styles of techno. Following the release of his debut album and the continuing success of Electrofunk Records, Mr.De’ has solidified his position at the forefront of Detroit dance music.

Today, Mr.De’ is the originator of pure ghettotech. At the helm of Electrofunk's distribution arm, he also controls the destiny of his fellow ghettotech peers in Detroit as they try and spread their sound outside of the city. Whether or not the rest of the world is ready for this Detroit-bred, post-modern style of urban music is an unanswered question, but there is no questioning the fact that Mr. De' may just be the most important man in that crusade.

Whim-ee aka Sara Garcia is a French dj/producer. Originally from Recife (Brazil),  she relocated to Paris as a child where she began her journey in music via nine years of classical piano schooling. Whim-ee later began experimenting with electronic music, injecting her own unique fusion of house, techno, jazz, funk and soul. She also manages her own labels ; Tao-Dan Records and W-EE Records.

Following up releases on labels such as Got2go, Chilli Mint Music and Nite Grooves, Whim-ee carries influences primarily from Chicago and Detroit into her forward-reaching productions that are consistently suffused with a tough and gritty sense of soul. Very deep and unique in her style and vibe…

Whim-ee & Myles Sergé join forces here with two brilliant chicago/detroit house techno cuts. Panstarrs - Ice And Dust EP [TR15] snippets

Paris’s Technorama Records will return with yet another release this January, coming by courtesy of Sawlin who offers us up a three- track EP, ‘Grand Cinéma’. After the project 'Restless' (TR1), the German producer is finally back on Technorama Records, known for his groundbreaking releases on Delsin Records, Vault Series and his own label Bikiniarz, this adept of a techno without concession comes in here on a different register.

On the A-Side, we can find his unmistakable vein with 'Von Bedeutung', pure techno track which rises whilst maintaining the pressure. On the flip side we have the mid- tempo 'Stepdepp' more ‘Burial sound’ oriented, groovy and dark at the same time, captivating and resolutely calibrated for the demanding dancefloors. New register with the classy 'Großes Kino' a beautiful example of Uk sound track with deep Detroit sauce. The tracks are resolutely out of the box, yet groovy as hell and meant to be played out loud in underground techno clubs.
