Chaotic Neutral 028 - Bill Patrick

The latest addition to our semi-regular podcast series is by fresh-faced Utrecht artist Maximoto, also known als producer, DJ, and nightlife promoter https://soundcloud.com/maximotodj. Maximoto can be seen as Rochat’s retro-tinged house project. There’s an EP incoming on our sister sublabel OOSSHA, and Maximoto will make his first appearance this Saturday at the SoHaSo takeover of the 2nd room at Utrecht’s club WAS. 

For this first sign of life, Maximoto crafts an exquisite mix of late 80s inspired house, acid touches, and big melodies. Some heavy hitters (Massimiliano Pagliara! Sterac!) make an appearance, but the overall feel comes closer to NY house icons Dream 2 Science. All in all, an excellent introduction to this new addition to the SoHaSo family, with plenty more to come in the near future!

Born and raised in Berlin it's FOOOL returning to Sevensol's KANN label with his second EP, Forum - the follow up of Shoplifter 2000, which was released in 2019 and just like Forum combined several musical styles and influences. Shortly before the release of FOOOL's second masterstroke, the artist sat down with Torture the Artist to speak about his Berlin youth, his early musical influences and other, not only, teenage memories. Additionally the artist, an exceptionally gifted guitarist, speaks about the recurring topics on his EPs, how he got involved with KANN and ultimately mixed and compiled the latest edition of the art:cast series.

Budapest-born Barcelona-based producer, Adwer has a new six-track EP in the pipeline. 'Tanzen Non Stop' EP will come out on his boutique record label Bolygó at the end of August and features four originals and two remixes from Lord Of The Isles and Gersound. Our premiere for today comes from the Scottish music maestro, Lord Of The Isles, who gives a delicate cosmic twist to the original version of 'Hexen.' The remix feels like an intergalactic voyage driven by a hypnotic sequence layered with beautiful celestial pads.

PREMIERE: Adwer - Hexen (Lord Of The Isles Remix) [Bolygó]

Minimalist techno cut built around a deep pulsing kick, tribal toms and shakers, and a steady low‑frequency “breathing” swell.  It opens sparsely with a single synth drone, gradually layering irregular percussive loops that mimic chaotic breathing patterns.  Mid‑way through, the bass and percussion thicken and a rising pad swirls over the groove, creating the sense of energy building.  There are no vocals—just breath‑like filter sweeps and a relentless hypnotic rhythm that keeps the body moving.  The overall mood is primal, raw and focused on physical release, much like Osho’s first stage of dynamic meditation, where chaotic, deep, fast, pattern‑less breathing builds energy

Ben Kaczor and Martinou, reunite as Tarik Hensen after the release of their debut track on Appian Sounds in November 2019. Saknar Ände EP, the duo’s first full release, comes out on September 19th and Delayed is happy to premiere the A2 track. The EP showcases the synergy between two great artists, as well as their versatility and variety of sounds.
“Kondens” is a minimalistic dub techno weapon, going full throttle from the get-go, with its several mini-breakdowns ensuring that it’ll be the highlight moment of many sets when clubs reopen.
The quality of this track and EP as a whole is extremely promising, and we can’t wait to hear more from these two artists together.
