Ode To The Golden Rule

At the beginning of the German Synthi-era there was Ashra/Manuel Göttsching, combining synthi and guitars on some great pioneering albums. Thought I'd try something in such style. So, here it is. Played the usual suspects. Added  a couple of takes on my Fender. Sic itur ad astra (which I'd want to translate as "such is our way to the stars"), thank you P. Vergilius Maro. Ad Astra

This track was inspired by the stream of news scenes about war and destruction, early 2024. Tried to capture the peculiar mix of darkness, resignation, persistence, watchfulness, rational assessment, hurt, helplessness, sadness, drifting away, and anger triggered by these images. The result is a modular trip to Symbolica base after the attack. You map the extent of destruction from a drone's view gliding across the main road down the former space colony. Peace to you all, the Shaman.

Just relax and enjoy the ride. See if you can find the layers in this one, as this was recorded in several stages with recording moments more than a year apart.
Anyway, this is in honour of all who ventured into space in those early days, showing us just how small and vulnerable this planet really is. Bless you, the shaman. 


Early Space Exploration

Been a long time that I posted a new track. Hope you are all doing all right. Here is a new 5-minute space journey. TD style atmosphere, I guess. New studio, new mixer, new gear... similar space vibes though.
Recorded in Reason 10, combining hardware (Korg MS20/D50) and software synths (JPS, Solina, Mellotron, Europa).

Nice to be in orbit

Back to the 80s and into the future. Here is my official landing request for Terra. Hope permission is granted. Introducing DSI Rev2. Recorded and mixed on Tascam 24-track. Some bass guitar included. Request Landing

Reading the amazing SF novel "Seveneves" and for me this soundscape kind of captures its atmosphere. 
Wanted to play and record live as much as possible, so, this was recorded in two, old school synthesizer takes using arturia sequencers, reason quad for percussion AI and DSI Rev2 for most of the synth sounds. Hope you enjoy the journey, bless you all, the Shaman.

no worries and have a beer...
Bringing in chipspeech for vocal elements. Thanks Plogue. Backing track played live, using a TC Electronics looper. Some top layers added later, also played live to keep the natural flow. Hope  you like the space/robot/YMO vibe to this one. Peace to you all, the Shaman.
