Hailing from Scotland, we have one of the most controversial artists we have ever seen in a very long time. With a passion for dance music that stems from the early 90s as a child, HUGO has lived a life that no other DJ or artist in the industry could comprehend.

Starting his musical journey while serving a custodial sentence for being Scotland's largest supplier and manufacturer of Ecstasy in 2017, this man was able to spend his time behind bars mastering the craft of production. Never before had this idea crossed his mind until being subjected to nothing but time; therefore, from the day he first touched a computer till the day of release, it took HUGO, 701 days to learn how to produce music, hence the name.

With his brand 701, HUGO has cemented himself in the Scottish techno scene as a force to be reckoned with , amassing millions of streams on Soundcloud throughout 2022-2023 and playing on some of the best line-ups that Scotland has had to offer. This young man is the definition of techno.

Giving light to all up-and-coming producers from all over the UK and allowing young up-and-coming artists a platform to shine on 701 has been responsible for some of the next wave of great artist breakthroughs.

He rubs shoulders with the best artists in the industry and is known for being bold and passionate about his craft, allowing him to perform sets that have been championed above all others. His most recent exploit has come as no surprise with his newest label release on Rave Alert for Franky Bs Collaboration EP with the track Green Kombat that sees this man’s name along with Stan Christ, Per Pleks, Omaks & more.

Closely linked with the Powerhouse Duo from Liverpool Nineted, HUGO is able to draw inspiration frequently and persistently from those around him and has massive plans for the industry in 2024, but not before finishing the year with bookings up and down the UK.
