José María Álvarez del Real aka DJ Pepo es uno de los artistas españoles de música electrónica más influyentes y queridos de los últimos 30 años tanto en España como fuera de nuestras fronteras. 

Desde sus inicios a finales de los 80, e influenciado por artistas de la talla de Front 242 u Orbital, con los que ha actuado en diversas ocasiones, Dj Pepo ha evolucionado junto a la música a lo largo de este tiempo pasando por una amplia variedad musical. Desde funky, house pasando por jazz, hasta los sonidos más duros en los que está centrado actualmente en sus sesiones de música techno, Dj Pepo siempre se ha caracterizado por ser uno de los artistas más polivalentes de la música electrónica, consiguiendo un sonido propio y una manera de mezclar inconfundible.

Sus sets a 3 y 4 platos llenos de ritmo y contundencia, siempre se caracterizan por su gran espectacularidad, estar llenos de ritmo y un carácter completamente eléctrico, llegando al público al instante con su forma viva y deslumbrante de mezclar. Se tratan de auténticas bombas de relojería en forma de música que baña los sentidos, haciendo de cualquier evento por el que pasa una ocasión para escuchar matices electrizantes y maniobras inesperadas.

Desde sus comienzos actuando en los mejores y más vanguardistas clubs de Madrid hasta la actualidad recorriendo gran parte del mundo, hemos podido disfrutar de Dj Pepo en multitud de salas y festivales internacionales como Saratoga, Attica, New World, Van Vas, Space, Privillege, Amnesia, Qu, Florida 135, La Real, Awakenings, Monegros Desert Festival, o el propio Aquasella donde después de cerrar 25 veces el festival de un auténtico mito y de un record a nivel global.

Como productor, la forma de expresión de Pepo es a través de las producciones, por tanto, cada una de las referencias es un sentimiento, un pensamiento transmitido y plasmado en notas musicales. Su estilo alejado de lo comercial y centrado en el gusto por las nuevas tendencias sonoras, le han dotado de un producto puro, limpio y libre de intoxicaciones externas, le han permitido lanzar en multitud de sellos nacionales e internacionales.

Todo ello, ha hecho de Dj Pepo uno de los artistas más queridos y demandados por el público de diferentes generaciones de nuestro país. Por lo que incluso la marca americana de ropa juvenil y underground UGP decidió patrocinarle ante el espectacular “tirón” que tiene dentro y
fuera de las cabinas, donde cuenta con toda una legión de fieles seguidores capaces de acompañarlo allá donde va.

Actualmente sigue trabajando en su label Synthesis Records así como de la mano de Dual Booking y su patrocinador de ropa oficial 4 Real Clothing.

Artist: Alvaro Frisella

Álvaro Frisella was born in 1986 in Palencia. His first contact with electronic music was at the end of the 90's; during those years I was listening to surround sounds from artists like Surgeon, Mark Broom, James Ruskin, etc. Around 2005 he began to be interested in mixing and visiting techno music clubs throughout the national territory.
In 2011 he was chosen as Official Deejay of the 6th edition of the prestigious Circus Nation festival in Granada, as part of the Line Up.
From then on, he began to perform in clubs on the peninsula, sharing a booth with great national and international artists such as Felix Krocher, Valentino Kanzyani, Robert Natus, Marko Nastic, Eric Sneo, Pepo, Fernanda Martins, Horacio Cruz, C- System, Isabela Clerc, Du'art, Paula Cazenave, among others.
Forcefulness and technique are words that define this artist. In the booth, he stands out for his sets on three vinyl decks, achieving unique mixes. His influences come from artists like: Jeff Mills, Joey Beltram, Oliver Ho, Chris Liebing...
Currently, he is focused on music production, working on developing his own line of sound and being able to offer the public something exclusive. True to his style of music, the hardest side of techno.
