In this week's podcast, we're featuring Kyle Cortis, a seasoned DJ with a decade of experience under his belt. Despite his extensive DJing background, Kyle has only ventured into music production over the past year.

Kyle draws his inspiration from the local music scene in Malta, with promotions like XPOSE and Disorder significantly influencing his artistic journey. A pivotal moment in his career was in 2015 when XPOSE introduced SNTS, which left a lasting impact on his musical direction.

For Kyle, being a good DJ involves having a keen ear, the ability to read a room, and the courage to step outside of one's comfort zone in music selection. He believes in not limiting oneself to a "safe selection" and encourages taking risks with track choices.

To stay current, Kyle often starts his search by exploring labels and artists he admires, primarily on platforms like Bandcamp and Soundcloud.

Kyle acknowledges the abundance of local talent in Malta, and while he can't name them all, he appreciates being part of such a vibrant scene. He feels fortunate to be among exceptional local selectors and producers on the Maltese islands.
